Here is our tale of woe, this is a very unusual review as we unfortunately never got to stay at the establishment.
Due to fabrication of the management our booking/ stay was canceled and refunded without discussion or warning days before we were due travel.
Our experience began with ringing the hotel requesting availability for the following Saturday for a one night stay, which was confirmed by the manageress (Debbie) and payment was readily taken by debit card. With piece of mind that our accommodation was booked and paid for, we then went on to book time off of work and sort out a baby sitter to then be called 3 days before we were due to go and told that our booking had been cancelled and we need to find somewhere else to stay.
The explanation that was given by the proprietor was that it was a minimum of a two night stay and that she doesn't feel that it is a type of place that we should be staying at which deeply offended us.
We then sought legal advice before calling back and conserving with Debbie the manageress, we asked her to confirm if she was aware (which as a manageress she should be) that the hotels policy requested a minimum of a two night stay. she replied that she was aware, I then asked why then did she accept a one night stay and full payment which intern is legally binding under the consumers rights act. her reply was because she wanted too. I then asked if she could explain this to the proprietor and get her to call me back, having not heard from her we chose to call back ourselves a few days later, at which point the proprietor answered the phone. I asked her why she hadent rung, she assured us that she was just about to. We asked on what grounds did she cancel our booking and she replied it is a minimum two night stay. We pointed out that her manageress was also aware but had no problem accepting one night stay and taking payment. This obviously presented us with the problem of finding accomation very last minute which intern turned out to be quite expensive. we also requested an explanation for the remark about it not being the sort of place that we should be staying in and at that point her tune changed again, she explained that her manageress had actually accepted the booking because she felt intimidated and verbally bullied into taking our payment. we found this extremely strange for two reasons. the first reason was that she took the booking because she wanted too and the second is because she never made us aware of a minimum stay requirement. To conclude, we were told to get off of the phone or she would call the police and accuse us of Harassment. which ever way you look at it, it is a breach of contract on the managers behalf, due to there mistakes we felt that they should have honoured the one night stay. we have checked this hotels reviews and have notice that they are 9/12 or in our eyes 3RD FROM BOTTOM!
not to stay here there are plenty of alternatives!

The lady who took your booking was bullied into taking a one night weekend booking, we have a minimum of a 2 night stay at this time of the year, also your comment of (you're not going to spit in my food now are you?) made her feel totally uncomfortable She worried about it so much it made her porley. She advised me on her return to work about her concern with the reservation which infact was over ONE WEEK prior to the check in date and with that I rang you straight away to explain that we could not honour the booking because of our 2 night minimum stay policy and would refund any monies owed, which gave you plenty of time to book elsewhere I was also intimidated by your tone of voice and the fact that you threatened to turn up on the Saturday night anyway You and your husband rang us on a number of occasions On one of those occasions your husband rang and I anwered the phone and was met with him asking the same question. ( which I politely answered ) over and over again Then he insisted on speaking to Debbie again going over and over the same thing Finally I threatened to contact the police if you persisted phoning We are extremely upset with the whole issue and are dismayed at some of the accusations that have been posted on your review.
