I have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Beach Hotel that included a weekend stop over. I had to book the Hotel at short notice and I hadn"t visited the area before which left me wondering if I would end up in a local Fawlty Towers. Nothing could have been further from the truth - the service was good and the Hotel was very clean and tidy with a reasonable standard of decor throughout.
I paid an extra £10 per night for a sea view which meant I had an excellent view of the Channel storms and the shipwrecked timber that was being removed by heavy plant equipment each day, however, the double glazing prevented any disturbances from the workings directly outside the Hotel. The place was popular with the over 70"s so don"t expect a party astmosphere in the bar area but I have to say that the facilities in the restaurant and bar are adequate and the prices are reasonable. Breakfast was good but make sure you make it very clear to the polish waitresses what you want,my order for beans on toast resulted in one small slice of toast with a handful of beans on it with the rest of the order missed off ! A small gripe I put down to translation difficulties. The reception staff were very helpful all be it the night porter gives the impression that he would rather be at home in bed than help with guest enquiries. I would recommend the Hotel if you need to stay in the Worthing area for a few nights.
