My Husband and myself used this hotel for the first night stopover of our 2 week tour of Scotland and was a little sceptical after reading some of the other reviews, but were greeted by very helpful and pleasant staff. We did ask to have a room that was on the opposite side to the motorway, which they had already arranged, and we heard very little traffic noise. We also had dinner in the hotel from the Bar Menu which was good value for money although a little more choice would have been nice, but saying that what we ordered was delicious, as was the breakfast the following morning. Would certainly use it again as a short break or stopover.

This was an ideal location for a stopover on our journey from Leicester to Fort William.

Reception staff greeted us warmly on arrival and escorted us to a very comfortable exec room with views over the countryside. Noise from the nearby motorway could be heard with the window open but was not intrusive.

Dinner in the restaurant was the highlight of our stay: excellent food and well presented. Polite and helpful staff. Breakfast the following morning was no less impressive: no buffet, each breakfast individually cooked to order. Compliments to the kitchen staff.

The only thing to slightly mar our stay was the wedding. Due to the design of the hotel, it is impossible to prevent parties such as this from interfering with other guests. Is it asking too much for hotel guests to close their doors quietly in the early hours of the morning?

Overall, a pleasant short stay.

Hotel was generally nice. The rooms were comfortable. Our bathroom had a grey suite and looked like it hadn't been replaced since the 1980s. The room was also pretty noisy and you could hear people going up and down the stairs at night. Overall this hotel is nice enough but isn't worth £100 for a nights stay. It isn't a four star hotel.

Just a quick one.

I stayed in Room 16, this is on of the rooms facing th M74 motorway. The loud din of the passing traffic kept me awake most of the night. I then realised on checking very early the following morning that the patio doors did not close properly, leaving a gap allowing the noise to come in.

The shower was also poor, just a dribble, I found this very disappointing, especially in the modern age of "power showers"
