Wonderful location at seafront in centre of Lerwick - could not be better. Slightly old time atmosphere in keeping with established hotel and typical Lerwick stone building and with very helpfull and friedly staff. Great crack in the bar and had 1st class dinner and wine ( try the pork starter ). Fascinating view from the dinning room window watching all the various ships at sea. Message to the owner: if you get round to doing up the hotel - dont do it up too much, it's just fine as it is.

The food is really exceptionally good! The staff treated us very nicely, all were friendly. the rooms are ok - not very big, but comfortable and clean, the showers were good.
The location right on the waterfront, overlooking Bressay, is great. No parking is provided, u have 2 use public parking.
i would happily come back!

I mean when your hotel is actually in the water how much closer to the sea do you want unless you go on a cruise!! Decor is really tired and it needs to be upgraded but the rooms are clean the service was helpfull and the food in the bar and the restaurant were fantastic.
Parking is as other have said of the public variety but its no further than many hotel car parks.

The hotel is an old building on the sea and very central. No parking at hotel but free public parking close by. The room and bathroom was very clean and the daily servicing excellent. However, the hotel seemed to be more geared up to buisness travellers. Every morning we had a knock on the door by housekeeping before 9 am and on the last morning it was before 8 am. The dining room at breakfast was chaotic with no overall control. One morning we were asked what we wanted for breakfast before we sat down and the next morning no-one came to take our order. I asked for one poach egg on toast on a couple of occasions and always got two floating in water. Considering the price the food was average. The best that could be said of the service was that it was benign.

My husband and I spent several nights at this hotel and had a room with a view of the water. Food is excellent in dining room and also in the bar where we ate once. There is no lift. Rooms are small but comfortable. We were told to park half a block away in a free parking area so parking was free. Staff is pleasant and helpful. We were provided with an early breakfast the morning we departed on an early flight to Orkney. The major complaint would be that sometimes we were able to smell food cooking since our room was above the kitchen area.
