We chose the hotel for a weekend with a our baby to have a break from cooking etc. we booked a family room that contained bunk beds. When we checked in, we nearly did not bother unpacking as the room was tiny, no seating area at all so it was sit on the bed or nothing. We spoke to the staff who immediatly offered a double room and explained that the family rooms were small because of the division into two spaces. Well done to them for offering another option, they were very good in that respect. The double room was huge, we needed and A-Z to find our way around it! We could not use the restaurant as it was too busy most evenings over the weekemd and we needed to eat early - however room service was prompt and pretty good eating.
All in all, the rooms we saw were a little dated, but not scruffy, the double we saw was spacious, the spa was pretty good and the staff friendly and helpful.

3 years on the trot at the Green and it gets better every time.

I wrote the Greens by the Greens review last year and had to write again. Our golfing trip was a great success again. However, since last year, there have been improvments made. The decor has been changed in the bar and dining room, much brighter, airy and welcoming. Rooms as good as ever.

However, there's a new chef and the food has improved yet again, which we thought would have been difficult after last year. Spectacular choices of food and beautifully cooked.

Still thoroughly recommend it but we book it through a golf holiday specialist, not via the Hotel and it's massively cheaper for accommodation, food and golf included.

we spent two nights here in a family suite with our two teenagers--a disaster--room no.47-soon to be taken out of service(according to the manager) but still being charged at the full rate of 170pounds sterling per night.The rooms(a double, a twin bunks and a bathroom) were small ,poorly decorated and the bathroom was far from clean. Breakfast was rushed-toast served as you sat down--cooked food served as you ate your cereal!!!!Even after a request to clean the bathroom things only improved slightly.Every floor creakes so you are constantly aware of people walking on the corridoor and upstairs--do not visit when there is a wedding here as we were unfortunate and didn't get to sleep until 4 am-even after a call to security at 1am.

We visited the hotel for a romantic weekend away in February 05 and were not disappointed. The hotel more than met our expectations.

Some parts of the hotel are rather old fashioned but some areas did look like they were about to be refurbished. This did not take anything away from our stay however.

The room we stayed in was large and spacious and had a lovely view of the gardens which I expect would be even better in the summer.

The restaurant was lovely with a great menu selection, great service and great tasting food as was the food served in the bar. Never seen good food arrive so quickly.

We also made good use of the pool and sauna which were suprisingly quiet.

This hotel is ideally situtated for travellers who want to visit Edinburgh, Stirling or Glasgow or just the surrounding area.

We also booked curling lessons through the Hotel for during our stay (rink attached to hotel). A very enjoyable afternoon was spent on the rink - a must try if/when you stay there.

Have recommended this hotel to friends and wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
