Worth going to this place just for the surroundings; ancient wood panelling, low ceilings and creaky floorboards. However, more importantly the food here is excellent. Imaginative and varied menu; in our party our starters were mullet, scallops and duck - all fantastic. For main I had venison wellington, which was one of the tastiest things I've had in a long time, but other people in our party said the ribeye steak and the sea bass were delicious too. Huge cheeseboard completed a truly top notch meal.
At the moment the restaurant does a 'bring your own wine' night on the last Sunday in every month, making it much more affordable than normal too.
