Stayed two nights 5/6 April with a group of friends for the week-end. The hotel was clean and comfortable, although the decor in the bedrooms was very dated and could do with being upgraded, but a bonus was that the hotel is in a good position on the seafront and our room had a sea view. Plenty of staff who were accommodating and helpful and arranged for us to all be seated together although the hotel was very busy. Breakfast was good and the evening meal, although not a terrific choice more than adequate.

None our group used the swimming pool, but it did not look particularly inviting. I would suggest that for the less mobile or people with young children this hotel would not be a good choice as although there was a lift it is small and there were a lot of stairs to get to the bedrooms.

“Nice hotel”

Burlington

This bed and breakfast was very nice. The owners are friendly and the pool is a little small but since we were the only people in it, it was fantastic! I would say that this wouldn’t be a good place to stay if you are in a wheelchair or need a pushchair, as the lift is tiny!
The rooms are small but have everything you need in them. Hairdryer, tea, coffee, shampoo sachets in the bathroom.
If I was going to Great Yarmouth again I know where I would stay! I would recommend this to couples and families with slightly older children.

“average”

Burlington

we stayed here on a overnight stop visiting the norfolk broads.
we asked for a room with a sea view, the first one we were shown was pretty lousy, very old and very humid.

however, they did take the time to show us another room on the top floor, much more modern with a very good view of the beach/sea

the bed was really uncomfortable with old blankets on it though.

breakfast in the morning was just average, with the smallest piece of fried bread ever (one quarter of a slice of bread)

the swimming pool is not huge but is ok for a quick dip. the jacuzzi was out of order

all in all, its just ok for one or two nights but i dont think i'd want to stay very much longer.

its generally got a very 'old' feel to it - the decor and the staff.

would stay again on an overnight stop only but im sure there are better hotels than this in great yarmouth

Just back from five excellent nights at the Burlington /palm court. Top notch 2* ( should be more ) hotel. Family run, with food to die for. We were on a whist holiday, and yes that did mean more old people there than normal. But the hotel would be a good base for all ages. Very nice pool, close to the beach and the shops. Rooms very good, and the family could not be any more helpful. In all a perfect hotel, for a perfect stay

“Great Weekend”

Burlington

We would like to say that we have just returned from a great weekend at the Burlington Hotel in Great Yarmouth. Our room was of a good standard with a sea view. We enjoyed swimming in the recently refurbished swimming pool and relaxing on the sun terrace. The food was really excellent and my wife was very gratefull to the chef for preparing special gluten free meals. I was very satisfied with the traditional selection of roasts, fresh fish and homemade sweets. The family and staff who worked at the Hotel were very friendly and helpful and all our needs were well catered for.
We are looking forward to a return trip!
