Have to agree with person from Cambridgeshire, hotel looked lovely in brochure, had booked a sea view room, wanted a bit of luxury, as I too had stayed in the Hilton at Norwich for 2 nights and wanted to extend my break, room was allocated to someone else who was staying for more than 1 nite, so ended up in a pokey little room at the back of the hotel overlooking the school playing field, bed had definately seen better days, husband slept in the adjoining room with our son as us both sleeping in the bed it collapsed in the middle. Well known for its "substantial traditional breakfast" 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 piece of fried bread not a mushroom or tomatoe in sight, very dissappointed. It was more of an old peoples home.

On arival in Gt. Yarmouth a place i have wonderfull memories off, my mother being a local, i set about finding accomodation on spec, for 3 days on Aug, bank holiday along with my wife and son. We have stayed at a variety of hotels in the vacinity including the Burlington before, but it has been 9 years since we visited last. The room we were given was lovely with all the on swete requirements and sea view we wanted. But the hotel is in need off refubishment. Although the food was aceptable the hotel was obviously understaffed and it got to be hard work at breakfast. The swimming pool is a waste of time too small outside is advertised steam room and hot tub but on wanting one are told the price is £6 and £4 on reflection the hotel is vastly over priced and we would have been better served going to one off the cheaper hotels down the road with entertainment.

"Wow" we said looking at the brochure.."it has a lovely looking pool (in the brochure) and the rooms look lovely (in the brochure) and the building looks great (in the brochure)....I think we booked somewhere different to the brochure we read as the Burlington was awful! the bed was too short for my husband who is just over 6ft so he had to sleep with a plastic chair to put his feet on at the end of the bed and the bed had seen better days the room was dinjy and was in desperate need of updating BIG TIME! I packed my cozzie for my little break and off I went to use "THE pool" which looked fantastic...in the brochure...my bath is bigger and the sauna was broken so couldn't venture into that either. Breakfast was our next adventure the best way to describe it is; old peoples home with orange juice glasses that had lipstick and old bits of food or something stuck to the side of them...I am sorry to go on but the Burlington should be on that programme "Hotels from Hell" as it REALLY is in need of a re-vamp or better still knock it down and start again...it has a lovely view and erm...that's all I can think of! Considering we paid less to stay at the Hilton in Norwich which is FAB! we were REALLY disappointed and the stay here ruined our break....SORRY!
