This is the second time my partner and myself have stayed at this hotel. As the first time was satisfactory for a weekend/one night stay in Yarmouth for convenience we booked it again.

Our room this time was smaller than the previous, not by much, but definitely smaller. The bathroom also was probably less than half the size of our previous room. So we were instantly disappointed.

One of the main reasons we chose this affordable hotel, was because it has en-suite facilities, which is not always on offer at neighboring hotels in Yarmouth, and these are a necessity in our choice.

When it came to having shower, the hot water feed was not working on the shower unit. The bath was hot, but the shower was freezing cold. My boyfriend asked if there was an alternative room for us. He was given two room keys to choose from. These rooms were only single, but we had use of the shower. This was not the ideal as we had to traipse through the hotel with towel and wash bag under arm. Kind of defeats the object for booking an en-suite. When it came to having a shower the following morning, the hot water wasn't working in the alternatives either.

Upon checkout we expressed our complaint; all we got was an apology, and was told it was the 3rd unit to go wrong! (Not our problem). Poor show and poor customer service.

We shall not be booking at this hotel again. We paid for an en-suite room, we didn't have en-suite facilities. We wasn't offered compensation.

We won't be returning.

We have just returned from a night at The Marine Lodge, having to book the hotel at short notice, following a business trip. I was reluctant at first (prefering chain hotels) but was delighted with the quality and cleanliness of this hotel. Its located in a great position overlooking the sea the rooms and very spacious (we had a family room No7) due to the fact that its quiet this time of year and paid only £52.00. The bar is very modern and serves a good selection of beverages. Breakfast was good and cooked to order - delivered to the table presented well and hot!! The staff and polite and helpful and allowed me to view the choice of rooms before booking. Linen is spotless and towels are plentiful and fluffy!!

Overall I would say this is probably the best B&B we have ever stayed in on business, and I am extremely fussy! I highly recommend a stay here if visiting the area

I have stayed at this hotel many time over the last few years, and have always found it comfortable. The staff are helpful (and don't seem to change which I think is a good sign!) and the location is excellent.
This year i found they were actually charging more for rooms with a sea view, something they hadn't done previously. While a sea view is nice, we never spend long enough in the room to make it worth spending the extra money. I will certainly carry on staying here when I am in the area.
Paying extra for breakfast is a bit annoying, but can also be an advantage if you're not a big eater and only want a light breakfast. Would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone.
