Have just returned from a few days in Yarmouth.We found our stay at the Southern most enjoyable. The owners are friendly, approachable and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are not the largest but are very clean and tidy.The dining room is comfortable,and the service is good.The breakfast is also good and set us up for the day.

The hotel is situated a short walk from the beach area, and approx 15 mins walk from the town centre.We Would not recomend it to people with any walking difficulties due to it not having a lift.but other than that no other negatives that we can think of.

The room we booked (two days prior to arrival though) was very small but was nice and had an en suit shower and toilet. Our first impressions was that the hotel was designed for the more mature guest though pleasant and clean.

Breakfast was fine and our overall stay, albeit shorter than we had anticipated (Great Yarmouth seems to be slowly decaying) was good.

I would say it was rather expensive for two nights (£170) and we would probably choose a hotel rather than b&b- which is what we booked as. Unfortunately, we won't be coming to great yarmouth again until perhaps, our children are of the age for rides and so forth - or we cannot afford to go anywhere else.

I read the reviews on tripadvsior and booked in for a night this June. I wasn't disappointed. I had a great welcome from Sally and Tony and a really lovely room. Because everyone gets this welcome, everyone I met was friendly and talkative and you could feel the friendly atmosphere. I had a lovely room, slept well and had one of the best breakfasts the next morning that I'd ever had. When I left to walk to where I was working Sally had even taken the trouble to print directions off on her computer. I can't believe you wouldn't have a great time here and the price was very reasonable. Full marks!

we stayed at the Southern Hotel, and had a really lovely room on the ground floor. It was a very comfortable hotel, and the owner Sally is a very friendly and lovely person. She makes you feel very welcome and comfortable.

I would highly recommend this hotel. the breakfast was very nice, in a very nice restaurant. we only stayed one night, but we plan to return for a week later this year.

They are located just in a side street of the main promenade, and i would guess a 5/10 min walk from the pleasure beach, so location is good. if you want somewhere comfortable, clean, quiet and good service, give Sally a ring!
