My family arrived day before us. Told us it was amazing Staff came and
took bags from car and took them straight to the room. We arrived my pregnant daughter went in to see if we could get a trolley for our luggage the recptionist pointed to one and she struggled to bring it out.

Went to the restaurant for dinner and asked if we could have a round table but was told no as it would take to long to lay. service very slow. Had to send back two meals which we said we would not pay for.
Christmas day dinner had been left under a heat lamp for a few hours only one person in our party of seven ate it. They explained it was because we were the last sitting. We had paid £75.00 a head for a meal
that had been left under a heat lamp. Yes we did ask for a refund
(still waiting for it though). In the evening as we had not had a lot to eat we asked if we could have a look at the menu we were told the only food available was sandwiches. Prices starting from £7.00.
Altogether we had a awful christmas there I would not recommend anyone
to go there espically if they are eating.

“Awful and MacDonalds usually good”

It was my boyfriends 30th birthday this weekend and after using MacDonalds hotels a lot over the last few years I decided to book into Savill Court hotel, Egham. The room was booked on their website at £128 for Executive Double for 1 night B&B. We arrived and given the keycard to our room.it was on the 2nd floor and as lift was not working we took the stairs, the room could not have been an executive double as the room was very small indeed (Room 260). The second disappointment was we ordered a bottle of Champagne in room service at around 4pm (not a busy time) and waited 45 minutes for it to arrive, unacceptable length of time I think even if the lift was out, the hotel is not spread out at all like many of your other hotels. On its arrival, after infoming them it was my partners birthday, it came with a birthday message to ME!!!

Our next disappointment came when we headed to the Spa. There was noone on the spa reception, if there had of been they would have realised that the place was freezing!!! We had to rush to change as was so cold, more expected of a public swimming pool than a private spa!!! Inside the swimming pool/sauna area was not any better, the pool was too cold for us, we were looking forward to the jacuzzi but this was out of order, a greatly disappointing session indeed!!!

After a lovely evening at the local pub we retired for the night in an incredibly soft bed which at the time was like a heavenly cloud in the morning we had both rolled into the middle and had very achy backs.

When we went down for breakfast there was noone to receive us for 10 minutes, it was busy but not that busy!! There was a queue of guests waiting for some acknowledgement or to be seated, I decided to try and find a table but when just about to sit down the head of breakfast decided to appear to tell me had to be signed off before seating and we had to return to the entrance and wait another 5 minutes!!

I am very upset all in all with Savill Court, especially as this was my boyfriends birthday present from me. We went to berystede Hotel and Elmers Court and were very very impressed but the high level of accommodation, customer service and efficiency but this experience has put me off using MacDonalds again in the future which is a real shame indeed!!

I was forced into staying here after my normal first choice for my weekly stay in Surrey was fully booked, as this was the next choice on the companies travel agents list. I stayed one night in a standard room, and I must say it is a very impressive looking hotel as you arrive; a sweeping drive up to a very modern looking entrance to the old building. The reception area was light and airy, although it was quite annoying to discover only one person on reception at what is traditionally a busy time for checking in at "business" hotels (4pm to 6pm), and I did have a bit of a queue to be able to check in and get my keycard, but I must say the check in process was relatively painless.

I stayed in a room on the second floor, and I must say the room is small, especially for the cost of the stay. Whilst the bed was very comfortable, and the desk was well sized for working on a laptop with one or two sheets of A4 alongside, the room could not have sustained anything else without being particularly cramped. It was a good job the TV was a wall mounted flat panel is all I can say!

The rooms are all equipped with high speed internet access, although be warned to take your own network lead (RJ45) as although you can borrow one from the reception desk it requires a £10 deposit. Whilst I have no doubt that it is a high speed connection, it does appear quite slow, even compared to my relatively sedate 4MB connection at home.

The evening meal was included in my price, and I found the service to be even more sedate than the internet connection. I spent 2 hours there for what was a three course meal. And with regards to the price of the food, I ended up paying nearly £20 for fish and chips with some vegetables on the side. That said, the complimentary buffet breakfast was well prepared and delicious.

“Fantastic Break”

Savill Court Hotel

28 Oct 2007

I checked this site after booking my break at Savill Court, and read some pretty damning reviews, but I decided that people do like to complain, and not many praise. I am glad I took the rest of the reviews on this site with a pinch of salt. My wife and I have just returned from a 2-night break at Savill Court and we have had a fantastic time. We stayed in Room 105, which is next to Room 107, and there was some noise occasionally, but I cannot see how it could be from fridge generators, as the kitchens were nowhere near these rooms. It seemed to me to be the extractors they fit in the en-suite bathrooms, as they have no windows. They ran for about 30-seconds at a time, so wasn't really any inconvenience at all. Room 105 was splendid. I have read people on this site slating the size of the rooms, but we had plenty of room. This room was in the original part of the hotel, not the new extension, so had the most magnificent stone framed windows. The room was spotless, as was the en-suite. The spa was great, with a good size swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, etc. We ate in the Library Restaurant on Saturday night, and the service and the food was exemplary. All the dealings we had with the staff was positive, yes most of them are foreign, but they were all extremely helpful. The hotel and it's surroundings are also fantastic. So all in all we had a great break. Would we stay there again - definitely. Would we recommend it to friends - no hesitation. Why then have I only given it a rating of 4 out of 5, well there is always room for improvement!

“Room with a view????”

Savill Court Hotel

18 Jul 2007
2/2 found this review helpful

I am actually staying in this hotel as I type! Like other reviewers I was very impressed by the beautiful location and grounds. The hotel is near to Windsor and in a quiet location (until the next flight from Heathrow passes overhead)

Quick check in - but I am slightly worried that when I was given my check-in form to complete the form displayed an address, e-mail and telephone number that weren't mine (ok so I have a common name but they never asked before handing it to me).

The lift was broken so I had to carry my bag up two flights of stairs up into the to the second floor. After eventually finding my room in the maze of corridors I was greeted by the ONLY hotel room I have ever stayed in which is SMALLER than my bedroom at home. Nicely decorated but very hot and worst of all no view. When I say no view I really mean NO VIEW!

There are two "A3" sized frosted windows at about 5 1/2 feet from the floor. On opening these to let in some air and see if I could catch a glimpse of sky I found the only thing I could see is the wrinkled roof insulation and chicken wire.

There is a fan which is so loud it is akin to a 747 engine. The shower squirts water at odd angles (my room booking specified bath) and I don't know how someone on the larger side could possibly manage to use it - it is tiny!

I ordered room service last night at 20:30. I was a bit worried when the lady taking my order asked what dressing I wanted on my Caesar salad. I pointed out that it normally came with the same type - Caesar???? At 21:30 I rang up to ask where it was - this is after I had already had a phone call to confirm my order (surely one caeser salad with chicken is not too difficult to write down). Food came at 21:45. Dried up chicken on a half decent salad. Not really worth the money.

I won't be coming here again and I will tell my colleagues who are booked in for tomorrow to change their booking.
