I stayed here as part of a corporate event so only the one night. I had the Panel Room which was quirky but extremely comfortable. The food we had was excellent and well presented. The facilities were first class for what we wanted and we were well looked after.

I note the previous comments about expense and I would not agree that this hotel overcharges for what it provides although it is clearly geared toward wedding receptions as its main trade.

I would certainly go there again.

“Over priced and greatly over rated hotel!”

My husband and I have just returned from a wedding at this hotel. I have to say we were really disappointed with it as it had been really sold to us as a fantastic hotel and wedding venue. Quiet pretty buliding and nice gardens but oh my god its so over priced its not true!!Its only 3 star rated and it costs about £12 for a drink at the bar, and lunch cost us a small fortune! The wedding food was really quiet nice but the hotel's own breakfast was really small and not very good value for money at £15 a head!

The rooms are scruffy with damp patches, and we were woken up at 3am by hotel staff asking us if we had left a tap on as there was a leak downstairs. This was followed 3 hours later by a letter delivered to our door informing us the heating and hot water had been turned off and was not being put back on again so we could nto have a wash and our room was like a fridge! I demanded a room rate reduction and had to have a blazing row to get £20 taken off our bill! Overall a poor show and not somewhere we will look to go back to.

A jaundiced view to say the least!

The vast majority of clients consider the house and gardens to be quite exceptional, rather than just ‘nice’ and view the hotel as offering extremely good value for money. Unless a client chooses an expensive cognac or port no drinks are priced at £12.00.

Your trip advisor was extremely unfortunate to stay on an evening when the hotel experienced a major leak in pipe work situated directly over their bedroom. Customer satisfaction has and always will be our priority and it is a gross exaggeration to say that she had to have a ‘blazing row’ to get a reduction on her bill – we don’t row with our guests!

We stayed at Great Fosters for just one night, but wished it could have been longer. The Italian Suite in particular is beautiful and the staff were most helpful. The grounds were a delight, even though the sky was grey, and the quaint swimming pool would be amusing in the summer. One tiny suggestion would be to add a dimmer control to the lighting in the bathroom; we found that a candle provided better ambience, and the shelf above the bath was convenient for the champagne!

“Great Place”

I'm currently traveling frequently to London. This hotel is about twice the price of some others, however compared to other luxury hotels the difference in price isn't that significant.

The gardens are very well maintained, and are amoung the best I've seen. The rooms are equally nice, although some rooms in the coachhouse (the modern area) seem exceptionally crampt. Being an old hotel the rooms have no air conditioning, which can lead to the place overheating. But on warmer days the maid comes in and opens up the windows to cool it down again before you arrive. Breakfast was slightly limited compared to some hotels, although everything was freshly made and of very high quality. Service very good, with easy check in and out.

My Husband and i attended the wedding of some good friends at Great Fosters and were very impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff and the excellent quality of the food and service provided. Nothing was too much trouble.

The wedding was any girls dream fairy tale location and I could not recomend this highly enough ( having been to 6 weddings this year already).

We were given The Duke of Wellington Suite for our over night stay there and were suitably impressed by how comfortable and spacious it was with period features and a beautiful view over the garden.

I would highly recomend this hotel to anyone, especially to celebrate an occasion whether it be a wedding or just two of you for a break. It was very comfortable and very welcoming and excellent quality. You will not be dissapointed.
