Have stayed before, wanted to visit several places of interest in Norfolk and this is central. I was welcomed by the owner and offered tea and coffee, was shown to my room which was very clean and nicely decorated. Fresh towels, a box of tissues, toiletries and tea and coffee were all laid out neatly. I found the room very comfortable, with plenty of storage space and furniture. The heating could be adjusted for each room, so adding to the comfort. The Hotel has a heated, indoor swimming pool, with a Sauna and Hot Tub and is available for use by residents. Ther is also a large lake for fishing in the grounds. The Restaurant caters for every type of diet and all food is freshly cooked from local ingredients. The staff are very kind and nothing is too much trouble. There a nine rooms, four inside on the 1st floor and five outside ground floor chalets with full disabled access and facilities inside, some have two separate bedrooms and pets are allowed.
Will definately be returning as it is just like staying with family!

A small country hotel offering great cooking, comfortable rooms, and a relaxing atmosphere. Previous reports form Purple and Callumco have summed up the service very well. The short but interesting menu offers something to please everybody and the food is cooked to perfection. Vegetarians will be delighted to find a restaurant that that really understands and appreciates vegetarian cookery. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The well- tended gardens and lakes added to the tranquility of the place.

I can only assume Smileyface and Zilana were looking for a county HOUSE hotel experience with a vast and pretentious menu, sycophantic service, manicured gardens and all the trimmings. If that's what you want, you may be disappointed. On the other hand that if you want somewhere that feels comfortable and friendly, where the service is personal without being fussy or intrusive, where the gardens are to be used and enjoyed by the guests rather than just admired, then you will have to go a along way to find another as good as this. To summarise: very comfortable, relaxing, and altogether delightful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

My husband and I wanted a quick weekend away in a pleasant hotel. I myself have a coliaec diet which can be hard to cater for in many hotels. How pleased I was when I came across Greenbanks, who cater for many dietary needs including Gluten Free. The food choice was excellent and very well presented. The service by Jennie and her team was second to none , nothing was to much trouble.

When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Jennie who showed us to our room - which had been recently refurbished, which we thought was a good start to our stay. We were shown the indoor swimming pool, which we were able to book later that afternoon. We had a lovely walk around the grounds and lakes and sat with a nice glass of wine in the garden.
Before our meal I went to use the shower, and found that there was no hot water. We reported this to reception, which was rectified immediately. The restaurant is called 'Chocolate', which we weren't too sure about, however we had a really nice evening and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and recommended places to visit in the local area.
We had only booked bed and breakfast for one night and asked to stay a second which we enjoyed even more, as I had a chocolate tart with 'gold' on it. Both mornings the breakfasts were excellent, I opted for the poached eggs which were laid by their own free range chickens.
This was a great place to stay and we were made to feel very welcome and will be returning for a late summer break.
