My husband and I decided to have a night away and chose Beverley as our destination. On our arrival in Beverley struggled to find a place to stay and ended up staying in this weird and strange guest house! The owner had one room available at £65 including breakfast and wanted paying as soon as we arrived. Our room when we got to it was extremely small, with a small fridge in it, (god knows why), had to pull single bed out to get to a plug socket, was in need of an update with décor. Cleanliness of the whole guest house was very poor. After eventually climbing past a pile of soil and rubble found dining room for breakfast, only 3 tables which were full, told to go for a walk and come back in an hour! Breakfast very poor, burnt sausages, crispy hard eggs and bacon that was so hard you couldn't even get your fork in it! Complained but told they had no more cooked breakfasts left. Owner not interested in anything we had to say, more bothered about digging out the back yard to fit a hot tub in and telling other guests his life story which by the look on people's faces they didn't really want to hear! Will we return to Beverley, yes we will. Will we return to Minster Garth or recommend it definitely NOT!

Guests are hardly ever asked to pay upfront and this is only if they appear dodgy or when their cards are declined, or they do not provide any guaranteed payment.

On from there, we are very sorry this guest didn't appear to have a pleasant stay, though this was some months ago and before I took over properly as Manageress. We are constantly improving the guest house and are presently carrying out a programme of refurbishment / redecoration and replacing linen, towels etc,. In fact the room this guest stayed in has been redecorated in the last few weeks. Many of our several night stay guests really appreciate the fridges. The improvements are reflected in more recent reviews. Normally we would invite guests back, but we feel this guest is rude and even cruel to make personal comments evidently prejudiced by others, so we hope they will stay elsewhere next time. Thanks.
