Surprised but perhaps I shouldn't be. Had a three night stay with the family in one of the family rooms. Great value for money, excellent location and easy to find. Staff very pleasant and appeared to be really efficient. The hotel is located adjacent to the sea (not that you have a view!) with a number of chain restaurants, fast food outlets, a Vue cinema and a bowling complex directly opposite. The hotel is within walking distance of both pier and town centre. Hotel is a standard Premier Inn, albeit quite a new modern looking establishment. Clean throughout offering basic facilities (tea maker, hairdryer, shower gel etc). Attached to a Brewers Fayre (not well regarded locally). Only one niggle prevented 4 stars - the extra beds in the family room consisted of a sofa-bed and a mattress on the floor, the latter being v uncomfortable.

“Clean and New”

Premier Inn Southport

Stayed here for one night after our car got locked in the NCP as it had closed - Whoops!

Really good budget hotel - clean and new...and there are some bars, restaurants and a cinema on your doorstep.

Would recommend.

Stayed here on Wednesday evening, as was attending a funeral on Thursday in Southport.
Arrived about 4pm and had a very friendly lady check us in so a great start, went up to the room and was pleasantly surprised, the place was spotlessly clean, I don;t think the hotel is too old so everything looks pretty new and is well looked after.
The bed was great, a kingsize with lovely white duvet etc, had a great nights sleep.
There is a Brewers Fayre attached to the hotel, we had dinner here - it was good value and lovely pub food. The hotel is situated in a new complex, so also in the complex is a Frankie & Bennys, a cinema, bowling, Chiquitos and a pizza place so lots to choose from.
We didn;t have breakfast the next morning as we had to leave early but saw it advertsied, looked like the full monty!
Southport is a lovely town, a real seaside town, lots of great shops highly recommended!

“Very Friendly Staff”

Premier Inn Southport

10 Jan 2008

Stayed here for a five night visit to Southport in December. Having travelled all the way from Bermuda to get there we had a lot of luggage between us and I think that we had one of the smaller rooms. My daughter arrived the next day and she was opposite our room and had a larger room, with better layout and better storage which i believe is the standard room.

On arrival the staff were VERY friendly, so many hotels could take a leaf out of their book!!!! The entrance was warm and inviting and the whole place was very clean, including the rooms. It's a very handy location, being just a ten minute walk to the town centre and has about 6 restaurants to choose from directly opposite and a bowling alley. It also has it's own 'attached' brewers fayre restaurant which is good standard pub grub. Breakfasts are very good - these are open to the public so even if you're not staying at the hotel you can go along for breakfast. The only thing was on the last day (a saturday) a couple of families (i think) decided to take their children along - there were about 10 children in total all under the age of 10 and you couldn't get near the breakfast buffet area - they weren't very well supervised and allowed to run around - not good first thing in the morning! Makes me sound a bit boring but it was a bit much.

As stated the rooms were very clean and the bathrooms, basic but very comfortable. My only other complaint would be the water pressure - it was very low and took forever to have a proper shower.

Overall the staff and cleanliness of this nice, standard fairly modern hotel made this a very good stay and we will stay again when we go back in June.

“Very clean, friendly & welcoming hotel in southport”

We chose this hotel after reading reviews on this website ,and are really glad we did as they all do it justice!

We stayed 2 nights in october for a family 1/2 term break and were wishing we could have stayed longer. The staff were all so pleasant and helpful from the moment we arrived and even phoned to make enquiries about attractions in Liverpool for us.

The modern bedrooms were spotlessly clean and quiet .We were given extra teabags and milk as required for free.
Breakfast was optional and you can either pay in advance when you book into hotel or pay each morning ,in restaurant ,as taken.(doesn't cost anymore for paying on the day).
The Brewers Fayre restaurant ,accessible from hotel reception, had a lively atmosphere and had a safe indoor play area for kids.
Easy free parking right outside hotel in ocean plaza complex.
We were so happy with our stay that we have booked again for another short break.!!!!

(Hotel not easily visible from Marine Drive as it is at the back of Ocean Plaza complex .)
