“good airport hotel”

Marriott London Heathrow

Booked the park and stay package with holiday extras for £99 with 15 days parking at the hotels car park before a flight to dubai. Found plenty of places to park when we arrived on the saturday afternoon, parked up and checked in and within 20 minutes we where in our room . The room has stated in countless reports on trip advisor is excellent with a nice comfy bed, used the gym wich is ok and the pool wich is not big but ok for a casual swim but at the time we went in was rather busy with a kids club. I recommend using the local buses to heathrow central coach station wich are free and frequent and can be boarded across the road from the hotel for going to the airport, and on return there is a stop just outside the hotel, opposed to using the airport hoppa priced at £4 per person each way !!!! we found there to be plenty of room for luggage on the buses that we used wich where the local red ones, only thing you have to do different to the hoppa bus is make your way to the airport terminal you need to be at from heathrow central coach station .Due to the fact our flight to dubai departed at 2200 we asked for a late checkout at 1700 the receptionist told us that it will cost £40 i explained it had only cost £99 for the initial booking with 15 days parking and asked why it is costing £40 for 5 hours extra ? but they do let you checkout at 1300 for free so it works out at £10 per hour it was explained that £99 is a special price through holiday extras . The restaraunt and bar prices are quite expensive same has all hotels, so we walked down the road at the side of the hotel for 5 to 10 minutes to the pheasant pub for a sunday roast and beer they do bar meals everyday and it is worth the walk. This is the best hotel we have been to and will be using it again when flying from heathrow.

We chose the Marriott based on TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. We booked using the Marriott website and got a room for £80. After checking us in, the receptionist suddenly asked if we would like to upgrade to “a nice room” for an extra £40. We asked if the room we were allotted was therefore “not nice.” In fact, the standard room was excellent, with a fabulous bed, lovely crisp linen, clever reading lights, ample work space if you needed to work, fuzzy TV reception and nice black-and-white photos of London on the wall. The bathroom was spotless with an old-fashioned shower in the tub. A Marriott shopping brochure hilariously offered the shower curtain for sale - hurry while stocks last!!

The biggest surprise was the main restaurant, Tuscany, where we had a startlingly good dinner of smoked salmon, steak, tiramisu and a bottle of wine for £120, which might account for the emptiness of the room, or perhaps it was the gruesome carpet which put people off.

The health club and pool looked pretty good, though we never used it, and we didn't have breakfast either. But the comfy room and easy on-site parking, too, made this admittedly rather soulless but highly efficient Heathrow stopover almost a pleasure.

I stayed at this hotel on 14 different occasions in 2007 and will probably stay there another 14 this year!

It is within 5 minutes of all 4 (soon 5) of Heathrow's terminal buildings. Taxi's cost no more than a £10 to get there from the airport. If you are coming via road, it is 5 minutes off junction 4 of the M4. There is ample car parking there (£12 per night) which appears safe and i have never had a problem (touch wood).

Inside the hotel: you walk into a huge atrium style reception area - check in is over to your left, with a seating area in front of you and the hotel bar off to your right.

Reception is always swift, polite and you are in your room within minutes of arriving. The rooms are large, with seriously massive beds with more pillows than you will know what to do with! All the rooms have now been refublished. There is wired internet access in the rooms, a TV with 15-20 tv channels, desk, couple of chairs and coffee table. Bathroom is white and very pleasant.

There is a well equiped gym with bikes, runners, X trainers and rower, along with free weights and static weight machines. The pool is c16m long - not great for doing lengths in as the steps at one end prevent you 'hitting the wall' at one end and pushing off.

There are 2 restaurants - one italian and one american. Both serve typical food for the country and is very pleasant but a little on the pricy side. There is a car which also serves food - more pub style stuff but always good. Drinks are again a little pricy. There is also a costa coffee serving coffee, tea and sandwiches all day.

If you want a variation and fancy a proper pub meal and cheaper beer, come out of the front door of the hotel - turn right and walk through the car park via the barrier and turn right. Walk 300m to the end of the road and on the right is a little pub which is a very good and full of locals.

I have stayed in nearly every hotel in the area with work and have to stay i continue to come back here as the service is always excellent, location is good (although not ideal if you want central london - will take you 45-60 mins by cab and cost £40ish)

I highly reccommend.

The Marriott Group has never let me down with the quality of their hotels.

I have stayed at the Marriot in London Heathrow last week for 2 nights and was very impressed with the quality of the rooms, the excellent bedding and the service from the staff.

The hotel is very conveniently located close to all four terminals. There is a permanent bus service driving from all terminals to the hotels for £4, which is a bargain compared to the taxi fares.

The hotel has a very impressive lobby and – even more important to me – has a Costa Coffee bar where you can get the best coffee in town! I have tried both restaurants which are a bit expensive but the quality of the food and the service are tremendous.

Rooms are soundproof, very clean and spacious compared to other hotels in the area. If you have just been in the air for a long time and you want to relax, do not hesitate and book this hotel – it cannot be beaten by anything else in the area!

My husband and I were arriving back into the UK from a long haul flight into Heathrow and as the flight arrived late at night, we opted to stay for one night before catching a domestic the next morning.

Check in was fine and the staff were friendly enough and we were shown to our room.

The standard room was typical Marriott decor. Neat, clean and had everything we required even if it was abit on the small side.

We decided to dine at the hotel and upon arriving at the hotels restaurants we changed our mind, due to private (christmas party) functions taking place with loud music blaring in both restaurants. Unfortunately, there was no escaping this and after 18 hours of travelling we gave it a miss and ordered room service!

Breakfast was good with a great variety of hot and cold food of good quality.

The hotel was convenient for the airport and used the shuttle the following morning, with no problems.

Would stay here again.
