I've written about my Marriott experiences before and once again good old Priceline came up with a great deal for two nights.
I needed to be near Heathrow for an early flight on a Sunday morning and after a difficult week I needed to relax too.
Marriott fills that bill. Check in was fast and efficient.
My room was just how a good hotel room should be.
My first night I strolled 10 minutes along to the Ibis where they serve half decent buffet food at a very reasonable price till 11pm. The second night I had a pizza (very average at GBP12) in the bar area of the Marriott as the restaurants are just too rich for my blood.
I will always regard charging guests GBP12/ night to park their car in the hotel car park as "nickel and diming' but all the hotels in the area do it so I guess that makes it OK.
My single major complaint about Marriott is that you MUST check your bill. I have consistently had more issues with incorrect bills at Marriotts (see my other reviews) than any other hotel. The bill under the door on Sunday morning bore no resemblance to what my bill should have been and I called down to ensure that they rectified it before I got to check-out. Happily all was resolved but I do wonder what happens when guests in a hurry fail to do this before departure? I foot my own expenses these days and am now ultra careful.
It's still a nice hotel.
