we booked into the hotel for two nights over easter, and was given room 5. We had used the internet to book and had no idea what to expect. The rooms are in a lodge accross the yard from the pub and as soon as we entered the lodge door the state of the entrance started alarm bells ringing, worn carpets and chipped paint. On entering our room we noticed the room looked shabby, there was a cream sofa that needed a clean as it was full of stains, the bed spread was out of the seventies and had a few stains on. When trying to ajust the shower head the whole thing came apart, (there was a mention in the information book that the water presure was bad)so we gave it up as a bad job. We dacided to only stay the one night and after breakfast the morning after said we were checking out as we were not happy with the state of the place. We were told we had only paid for a standard room to which we replied standard should not mean dirty, and at £90 for a double room we expected more. The receptionist then tried to add £13 on to our bill for an internet booking fee which we refused to pay. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
