My wife and I stayed at the Old Vicarage for two nights. It was one of the best B & Bs we have ever stayed in. We were in the 'Blue Room'with a view looking out to the rolling countryside. The room is completely updated with a state of the art bathroom. There is no bath just a shower but oh what a shower. Absolutley brilliant with soft towells, soft bathrobes and first class toiletries.
Barbara and Neville made us feel so welcome in their lovely home. They answered our many questions, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Breakfast is as substantial as you wish to make it, a real treat finished off with Neville's homemade jams. A complimentary pot of coffee along with one of Neville's home made cakes was a special treat each afternoon. It's a special place with special people and is somewhere we can recommend with any hesitation whatsoever. We will be back..

My wife and myself thoroughly enjojoyed our three night break at the end of July in this wonderful 5-star B&B, if a six star rating existed The Old Vicarage-Toftly View would qualify without any doubt. The hosts Barbara and Neville were welcoming, friendly, and helpful in every way, Our room was spotless and very, very comfortable with every facility you would wish for. On returning from our days exploring, usually at 7pm or 8pm there was always tea or coffee and the most delicious home made cake, baked by Neville, waiting for us. Breakfast was an experience worth travelling miles for, also cooked by Neville. Anyone thinking of a trip to this beautiful part of North Yorkshire, don't hesitate, it's a lovely part of our country and The Old Vicarage is the place to stay, almost perfection!

We can only confirm the earlier reviews. The hosts are welcoming & helpful in every way. The accommodation is spacious & very comfortable. The breakfasts with fresh fruit & home made bread etc are a real joy. Pickering is 10 minutes drive with a wide choice of restaurants. Just a word of warning: the walk down to Levisham station is not for the faint hearted: very muddy & steep, especially after rain...

My husband and I stayed at Toftly View for 3 days on our honeymoon, and it was utter perfection! We found this luxurious B&B through Trip Advisor, and I can see why it came so highly recommended; nothing was lacking. We stayed in the "Green Room" which was very pretty with the largest and most accommodating bathroom I've ever seen. The shower had very strong water pressure and two shower heads - incredible! Barbara and Neville felt just like old friends from the very moment we met them, and they had lots of great suggestions for day trips and delicious meals. Neville makes wonderful cakes and scrumptious breakfasts - I still miss them!

“Delightful.”

The Old Vicarage - Toftly View

An absolutely first-class place to stay-extremely tranquil surroundings, very welcoming hosts, spacious comfortable bedrooms including bathrobes, 'proper' coffee, range of good quality toiletries, chocolates etc.
We'll be returning and rate it as probably the best B & B (although the phrase doesn't really suit it!) that we've ever experienced.
Highly recommended.
