We decided to head down to Cornwall for the weekend on a last minute decision and of course found just about every nice place listed in the Fromments guide to be fully occupied. We chanced upon this hotel on the internet and they had vacancies - in fact lots of it. This was a little worrying given that everywhere else was full. By the end of the trip we were actually quite happy with the hotel.
It is a fairly basic hotel catered largely for golfers. If you're looking for a pool/spa experience look elsewhere. There wasn't even a concierge. Our room however, was fairly spacious with a standard sized bathroom. As the hotel is fairly new, everything was clean. The best thing we liked about it was the restaurant called Nineteen - the food there was absolutely first class. It was pretty quiet while we were there - there seemed to be more staff than guests, perhaps not surprising given that we were there in the middle of winter.
We didnt play golf and were really there to check out some of the local attractions like the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens and the village of mevagissey. The hotel is fairly close to these places.
Not a bad choice if you are short of options.
