As other readers of the reviews on this hotel My husband and I were pleasantly suprised to find that none of the bad reviews were that accurate. On arriving we did think that we were in for problems at reception but unfortunately for us we had arrived the same fime as a coach full of people. The hotel was full as it was carnival day. The clientele is mainly elderly people so I would'nt recommend it for young people. The hotel was spotless, that is all areas public and rooms. The room was large and roomy as was the bathroon with both bath and shower. The only fault being that the shower went from required temperature to very hot suddenly (forgot to mention thisto the hotel on leaving).
The staff wer excellent. very freindly and helpful, notheing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent (did the other reviewers who stayed there not read the breakfast menu!!) I have to have a acid free diet and was supplied with a beautiful piece of white haddocka and poached egg, it was not too much trouble at all. There was also a choice of good branded cereals, ok! the prunseand grapefruit were tinned but thats no problem as long as you realise this and are not on a sugar free diet. There was all the toast you could want and they even supplied me with de-caffe coffee on request. Breakfast was more than ample (my husband is a big guy). All I can say is THANK YOU to all the staff for making our one night stay so enjoyable.

Many of the previous complaints about this hotel are very accurate.
We suffered more so because we had all the bad things in one single night and that one night was enough.
The noise from both inside the hotel and outside carried on until 05:30 and this involved screaming, fighting and severe verbal abuse of anyone that went to complain to get it stopped.
The night management where totally useless in stopping this noise which was being carried out by its own guests.
I am convinced the hotel was, and probably still is being used as a brothel.
To make matters worse we had booked the break through [--] who have completely turned a blind eye to our complaints about this nightmare hotel.
Be warned.

Very basic hotel
Cardboard walls
Breakfast consisted of juice, tinned grapefruit, tinned prunes
Cooked breakfast consisted of one egg, one rasher of bacon, one sausage, beans and half a tomato.
Two slices of toast
Coffee and tea
Lift to the different floors was really antiquated, only three people in the lift at any one time, we preferred to use the stairs.
Could do with total refurbishment to make up the 21st Century
I don't think we would stay there again
