“Just stay longer!”

Church House

5 Dec 2007

The visit to Church House was to be merely a stop-over en route south. We only wish we had realised what a gem it is. We could have stayed longer. It is extremely comfortable, the atmosphere is friendly and warming. It was a pleasure to be made so welcome in this extremely well appointed establishment.
Even the cats and dog make one feel at home.
All in all Church House is more than a B & B, it is a relaxing experience.

After searching in vain for an decent overnight stop in Weston Super Mare for a family wedding, I stumbled across Church House in Kewstoke. All the reviews are glowing and with good reason: the hosts are charming, the hotel/B&B lovely, and breakfast excellent. We arrived fairly late in the evening and we welcomed with hot drinks and biscuits in the conservatory. Rooms very spacious (probably the more comfortable bed I've slept in apart from my own). Generous hospitality tray in room with tea, coffee, fairtrade hot choc, shortbread and bottled water. Glorious views of the bay/Sand Point towards Wales, even from the shower!

Having to travel to weston-super-mare (WSM) to work for three days once a year, I was determined to find a decent place to stay having had one disastrous stay at a gastly hotel in 2006. I searched long and hard and luckily for me came across the Church House B&B. I phoned them directly and booked two rooms for myself and a colleague.
I arrived late on a Sunday evening to be met at the door by Tony and Jane and welcomed in to my room with a tray of tea and lovely shortbread biscuits. WOW...I think best describes the whole experience...the Church House is a Rose of a B&B amoungst 100's of thorns - drab, out dated, tired and dirty hotels and B&B's.
Fab hosts (including their lovely dog and cats), the breakfasts which consist of a help-yourself buffet of fruit ,yogurts, fruit juice and cereal followed by a cooked breakfast, and toast were delicious and filling, the rooms very 5 star with beautiful linen and decor...the bathrooms are fantastic too, with shampoo and conditioner, along with handwash being supplied!!
The view is spectacular also....I cannot recommend this B&B enough, it was full for the whole 3 nights I was there and I can see why....once you have found this place you will always go back and I of course recommend it to everybody I know who ever needs to stay down that way.....I fully intend to go back with my other half and enjoy a weekend away...(although not sure what WSM itself has to offer us..???)
I can't wait for next March for my next work stay......

In a nushell:-
Briliant accommodation
Fantastic breakfast
Lovely hosts
Excellent hospitality
Good location from center of WSM (only a 5 minute drive)
Private car parking (although need to be good at hill starts)
No need to pack hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and soap
You won't want to leave
