When you walk into the Princess House the first thing that strikes you is how totally '70s the whole place is, right down to the kitschy stereotypical Chinese decorations. When you order, you'll find the restaurant menu to be straight out of the '70s as well... it's almost as if the last few decades never happened.
That can be a good and a bad thing. My partner despised the food. She felt it was greasy, clumsy, and here comes that word again... dated. I was completely in the opposite camp as I loved it. I'm a real aficionado of good ol' fashioned Chinese food before the star chefs took it over, "modernized" it, and diminished the portion size to something barely suitable for a mouse's snack.
So if you like big, clunky, greasy, stick-to-your-ribs Chinese food the way you got it in the age of Disco, then Princess House is your place. I think the food is great. Others may strongly disagree.
