Booked quite late for October half term, so had to book direct with site. I am told some of the lodges booked direct with owners are at a lower rate and can be a higher standard. The lodge we booked was 3 star, it was OK and had good views, although at the far end if you were walking to the pool or bar. Quilt covers thin for October. Charge extra for people in excess of 4, so only exact number of beds made up, doesn't look very tidy when looking at unmade beds.
Kitchen very small and pots and pans could have been cleaner/better standard.
Swimming pool was OK, warmer than some we've visited. Not much else to do for children, playground very basic, could do with a small area for ball games, would be a good place to meet other children.
Contacted the site after we arrived home as couldn't find our camera. Wasn't sure whether we left it in lodge, or lost it elsewhere, but thought it was worth asking them to check. Got a slightly abrupt email saying they would have contacted us if we had left it! As these are quite big lodges, I would have thought it may not be immediately noticeable, so a quick look would have been helpful.
Not sure whether we would go back, if we did would try and book one of the 4 star lodges.
