Booked this site as my partner's family came here many years ago! We wanted to put this review on uk campsite but apparently Billing Aquadrome have requested that reviews for their site are not displayed.
Arrived at Billing Aquadrome and checked in with security at gates who then directed us to pitch. Had to ask gardener where pitch was and he told me it had not been marked out properly this year. Asked a couple on pitch next to us who were packing up early to leave, where toilet/shower blocks were and the woman pointed to a building in the next field that was the toilet block. The shower blocks were in the fields beyond.
Preceded to set up and the EHUP was falling apart and unsafe in our opinion. The pitch was waterlogged, covered in duck poo and was swarming with flies and mosquitos. After we set up we took a walk down to the toilet block only to be horrified by what we saw. Poorly maintained toilets, cracked sinks sealed with mastic, loose toilet bowl (partner tipped over on one) so generally dirty, run down and outdated. Like a trowback from a sixties park toilet block in our opinion. Even the disabled toilet and shower was a disgrace to people with disabilties, again dirty with no shower curtain or shelf to put toiletries on, other than on the floor.
Later we took a drive round the site to see if there were any better toilets only to find that the other toilet block was the same. We did however find a more modern warm shower block in another field but there were no shelves in showers to put toiletries on, and only two small hooks to place towels and clothes on (which kept falling onto the wet floor). There was no hairdryer or powerpoint for hairdryers and i overheard other site users complaining about this. I have never been to a campsite where you have to visit two different blocks to use shower and shaving facilities before. Furthermore, due to the faraway location of the toilets/shower blocks in relation to our pitch, we had to drive 9/10 of a mile one way just to get to them. It was like a family day out in itself.
I went to use the pot washing facilities, which are very few and far between considering the capacity of the site, and found an opened condom wrapper on the sink. The sinks were dirty, had no plugs and lukewarm water.
Overall the site appeared dirty, dismal and run down in relation to the camping/leisure side of things(bar the new swimming complex although the pool seemed on the small side). We paid £30 for a leisure pass but never went once as we spent most of our time offsite to escape the place. The noise from the traffic on the busy A45 kept me awake at night and could be quite loud at times. A group of youths pitched next to us one night and they kept us awake til 12.00am with shouting, swearing etc. Ironically even they left the site to use other facilites because they said the onsite washing facitlites were dirty. We felt like we had been dropped in the middle of nowhere on a military survival exercise with the SAS. We feel like we need another break after this experence, my partner has been camping for 40 yrs and has never ever come across a site like this... would we go back...HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!
One woman said ''the site is what you make it''....i would turn it into a tip as it's halfway there already! Having to give this site one star is clearly insulting a one star site . This is my personal opinion only but please feel free to contact me.

Genuinely sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay at Billing Aquadrome. It is a shame that the wet weather caused some of the camping pitches to get water logged.

Although the toilet and shower facilities would perhaps benefit from a cosmetic update we do aim to keep them as clean and tidy as possible. This is often difficult during bad weather and due to the high volume of visitors. However, staff at Billing Aquadrome are always on hand to assist should any guests feel the facilities are not up to an acceptable standard of cleanliness.
Once again we are genuinely sorry that you didn't enjoy your time at Billing Aquadrome and hope you might consider coming back again in the future to give the park a second chance.
