The rooms decorately nicely with very interesting and thematic pictures. The hotel owner, Mr. Lorenzi, sits at the front desk often and is very friendly. The hotel has a cozy family owned feel. We meet the family including Maximillion and Adrianna, who might be competing in the 2006 winter olympics in Curling!

The location is excellent, located right across from the church. The church IS the center of the town. Our party of three went primarily to ski, and we found our hotel a short walk from the ski office and a ski stop in front of the church.

As for breakfast, a continental breakfast is included. Now, I've had some terrible continental breakfast before, but I was pleasantly surprised. There are rolls with ham and cheese, toast with 6 different tasty jams, juices, and a waitress. If you desire, the waitress will bring you a variety chocolate drinks that are very popular in Italy or any additional breakfast items for a reasonable price.

My 20 year old boyfriend, my mother, and I stayed here in early January for a 5-day ski trip.

I believed this hotel deserved more than a two star rating. The room was clean and very comfortable with a balcony view of the beautiful church on Corso Italia. The bathroom was sparkling. The included continental breakfast was delicious with very friendly service. The ski room was on the first floor. Keep in mind that the hotel is a meuble and therefore does not have its own restaurant. It is by no means a luxury hotel but it is extremely cozy and was perfect for our needs.

Location - Could not ask for better. Right in the middle of the bustle of the pedestrian area (very close to museums and La Cooperativa). So lovely. A few steps away from a bus stop that goes to ever major ski cableway in the Cortina area (Falloria, Freccia nel Cielo, Falzarego). Very quick and picturesque walk to several quaint restaurants (I recommend Cinque Torri, Il Ponte, Al Pasetto, and Siesta). We were also a fan of the on-trail "rifugio" restaurants such as Rifugio Lagazuoi (falzarego) and Rifugio Duca D'Aosta (tofana)

Hospitality - The front desk is manned by Mr. Adriano Lorenzi, the hotel owner. Booking the hotel was a breeze because of his prompt and friendly emails. His children sometimes work on his off-shifts and are also very helpful and kind. All of the Lorenzi's spoke excellent english and provided very good recommendations for skiing and food. Mr. Lorenzi was so gracious to have his son drive us to Venice Airport for free (we of course tipped him) instead of using a local taxi service.

*** make sure you make use of the Transfer Service from Marco Polo airport (only operates Sat and Sun). It is only 10 euros for a 2 hour and 45 minutes comfortable bus ride right to your hotel in cortina ***

Overall we had a very smooth trip and enjoyed beautiful Cortina. I definitely recommend Montana for people who value a central location, excellent staff, and are not caught up on pretentious star ratings.
