This hotel objectively is clean and spacious. The staff was helpful. However, the location is not great. We arrived at night and I was fearful as we walked through the abandoned streets. We wished we had stayed at the Best Western which is closer to the train station. The price we were quoted was not expensive (though it ended up being the most expensive we stayed at, but the least nice!), but the value of what we got for the price was the worst we experienced on our trip. There was no way to turn off the heat completely in the room so it was sweltering most of the night. It was a bit noisy, and the rooms smelled funny. We felt a bit insecure as there was no one manning the front desk during the off hours. I would definetly not stay here and find a better hotel in Venice proper if you are looking for a place to stay. You can find deals in the city that would be infinitely more charming than this place.

Hotel Roberta is comfortable, clean and convenient to train and bus transportaion to Venice. We had a double room (with air conditioning!!!) in mid-September and loved it. The train station is only a few blocks away but would advise taking the Number 9 bus to Venezia and staying away from the crowded and noisy train station unless Padua or other nearby towns are your destination. The bus ticket also works on the Vaporetto in Venice. There are some great local restaurants near the hotel and a coin laundry. The breakfast bar was adequate. No elevator but the maid who checked us in carried our bags to the second floor. There is apparently an elevator for other floors.

The taxi picked us up at 5:00 a.m. sharp and whisked us to the airport for our 6:15 flight. Try getting that in Venice!!! Last, but not least, the price was under $100 for a double room.

We will definitely stay at Hotel Roberta again.
