We were recommended this hotel because my wife had become ill and we were hoping the spa treatments would help her to recover. This it certainly did but the hotel has so much more to offer than this. We found the bedrooms comfortable and roomy and the lounge and dining rooms were very cxomfortable and spacious.There are three excellent in door and out door pools, a small gym and the very comprehensive treatment suites, which includes medical support.The staff are helpful, friendly and courteous. The food is good and plentiful and leans towards German tastes rather than Italian as most guests are German. Look out for the Venice night in the restaurant when the waiters dress up in gondolier outfits and the head waiter gives a very good rendition of nisan dorma. We found the prices extemely competitive for full board and easy jet offer some good bargains to venice. The hotel will arrange a taxi collection from the airport for about 60 euros. We hired a car from the airport but if yiou are stayong close to the hotel it is a 10 minute walk into town. Montegrotto is a lovely town with good shopping and cafes.Some of the local scenery and villages are stunning. Lake Garda is about an hour to the north and the northern italian coast is about an hour to the west. Venice is about 8 euros by train. A great hotel in a great location with great staff. We have been back for a second visit and my wife is going again in June with some friends.
