Myself and my wife just got back from a 6 night stay at the Royal Domina Hotel in Positano. For the most part, everything was great!
We had a balcony that overlooked the town and a view of the sea. The walk down to the main part of town and beach only took about 10-15 minutes and you had the option to wait for a bus near the hotel to take you down.
The hotel lay-out was a bit odd but we eventually figured it out.
Pool was nice with great views as well. Staff were very pleasant with most having some knowledge of English.
We didn't eat Dinner at the Restaurant but had breakfast twice. They did offer eggs and bacon along with the standard rolls and cereal. Seemed to be on par with any other breakfast offering throughout Europe. The dinner menu was a bit pricey so we chose to eat at restaurants around town. We found a great family owned place just up the hill from the hotel. Inexpensive with great food, better than any of the overpriced restaurants by the beach.
Rooms were spacious, though a bit bland. The fact that we had a balcony with great view which we took advantage of every night after dinner made the blandness of the rooms irrelevant.
All in all, a great experience and highly recommend the hotel.

The hotel is located in a beautiful part of Positano and the terrace bar is very nice. The staff however were not very good. We needed a kettle in our room to be able to make bottle for a baby but they were unable to provide one. Also, the swimming pool was closed which we were not made aware of and this was dissapointing.

We stayed at Domina Inn Royal in late September and thought it was a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean and quiet, however, it was quite a walk to town. There is also a bus that picks up out front and the staff can provide a schedule if you ask.

Our only complaint was the pool issue. As just about everyone has mentioned, they require a bathing cap to go in and while we didn't ask, I didn't see any advertisement of where you could get one. During our 3-day stay, we never saw anyone actually go into the pool, which is probably why it was so clean. It was a shame because if I knew you couldn't use the pool, I probably would have booked one a little closer to town without one.

If we were to stay in Positano again, we would probably pick one a little closer to the beach.

I just came back from a 7 day stay at this hotel along with 15 other people. I was a little worried before I left the USA because of some of the reviews from other guests..But I should not have..We loved this hotel...The views are breathtaking from every room...The public bus stops right in front of the hotel which is perfect to get back from town. The breakfast was a typical European breakfast and was fine (If you wanted to get eggs, you could order that separately and that was only 4 Euros..). Now let me talk about the staff..Without exception, they could not have been more accomodating or pleasant. Anything that we asked of them was no problem at all..They made every phone call for us to restaurants, taxis, reconfirmed our flights, made wonderful suggestions for places for us to eat. I and everyone in my party would definitely stay at this hotel again..
