Beware all SMOKERS, this is a totally NON SMOKING property. No problem one might say but on booking with my Travel Agent I requested a smoking room. I have no problem with the smoking ban as we are well used to it in our country and are aware that some Hotels have decided to become a totally no smoking property, hence my REQUEST. Either my Tour operator failed to give me the information or the Hotel failed to inform them, either way I should have been advised of this in advance. The Hotel was very pleasant, staff very nice and helpful. Food was very good overall but found one had to be ready to eat at 7.30pm for good selection. This was very noticable when it came to dessert. What amazed us was how difficult it was for my husband to get plain white ice cream. When the one offering was gone it was always replaced with another flavour, usually chocolate which he dislikes, so one has to be a quick eater or select ones dessert with ones main course. The night we had the Gala Dinner (served to the table) it was really very nice. People in our group who had a road view mentioned the road noise. Overall our stay was very pleasant. Riva is a really lovely place as are the lovely surrounding little towns. We stayed Sept. into Oct .for one week, worth noting, the lake boat timetable changes to the Winter timetable on 1st. Oct. which means less frequent service. The Varone Waterfalls are also very worthwhile.

Stayed here from 22-27th September, the reviews on here helping to influence our decision.
Hotel had a nice modern feel and was only a couple of minutes away from the centre of Riva.Staff were polite and courteous although there only being one person at reception could lead to a wait if they were busy.
Downside was our room (number 55). Although nice and clean the night of the weekly sing-a-long (wednesday) meant it was like being downstairs sat next to the singer. Not what we expected from a quality hotel.This hotel is used by a couple of large tour operators so could be busy and room 55 is NOT the room to be in at this time if you require an early quiet night.

We stayed 19th - 26th September 2007.
We found the hotel, clean, bright and modern.
The location was great, a 5 minute walk to the centre of Riva and the lake.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The room was cleaned daily and the bedding and towels were also changed daily as well.
The food, both at breakfast and dinnner was a buffet and was varied and tasty - something for every palate, however you should get there early to take advantage of the full menu.

There are plenty of free parking spaces for those who have a car (which we would recommend to get around the lake).
Although we didn't use the pool and surrounding garden, they were both very well maintained and clean.

We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet. The road at the front of the hotel was busy at times.

We stayed at the Luise for our honeymoon. On arrival we had to wait 2 hrs for us to get into our room, we were told they were cleaning it. We originally booked a superior room and were upgraded to a junior suite on the top floor. To get the suite it was worth the 2 hr wait.

The hotel was spotless, our room was cleaned and fresh towels laid out daily.

The food was superb, a fantastic starter buffet followed by a choice of 2 pasta dishes and 2 meat/fish dishes with veg, and a choice of 3 - 4 desserts plus ice cream.

When ordering drinks they wouldn't accept money for them at the time, everything was signed for, to keep track of what we had bought we paid our drinks bill the next day at the reception.

Its a short walk into town, with a bar 2 minutes away from the hotel. The garden at the rear of the hotel is great with a gazebo and sofas.

We had trips to The Dolomites and Verona. The ferry trips to the other resorts on the Lake are great and very easy to do.

Would highly recommend this hotel.
