My husband and I have just returned from a week long stay at Hotel Garda, Riva del Garda and absolutely loved it. My husband is a wheelchair user and there are quite a few steps to get into the hotel but never fear there is, suprisingly, a chair lift. There were a few hipcups with the contraption but this was met with good humor and there was an alternative lift in the kitchen. I had read the other reviews for this hotel so had prepared myself to be disapointed at meal times but..... both the husband and i loved the meals, every evening there was a completely different choice. A particular favourite was the riccotta and spinach tart. I found it funny that someone complained about the portion sizes as yes they are small but there are five courses to plough through so to be honest we were very grateful that the portions where reasonable. In fact for most of our stay we always skipped a course or two because the challenge of getting through them all was a bit daunting. I also loved the mix of people that stay at this hotel. There were quite a few coach trips staying only for a couple of nights and a great mix of nationalities which really livened up the atmosphere. The bar prices were reasonable for a hotel. And as stated in other reviews all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, especially the receptionists. Our room was on the large side, this could have been because they wanted to make it easier for my husband to get around. Painted a fresh green and one wall was completely glass making the room light and breeze. We had a view of a mountain with a chappel monument halfway up, it which completely baffled me as to how it got built. The situation of the hotel is great as there is a very pleasant walk into the town either on the lake or through the town and also an picturesque walk to the neigbouring town. We both are very keen to revisit both Riva del Garda and would have no doubts in staying at this hotel again.

Hi me and my wife have just got back from staying in the garda hotel. it is suppose to be a 4star hotel but sorry to say it is not. the rooms where small , you can clearly see in the bathroom pipes visable running across the ceiling, as for the food it was hit and miss as we had to dine out at least 8 times as the menus on offer are very limited and the portions of food very small,nothing to offer small children from the menus.i went to other 4 star hotels belonging to the same family and i can say they met the rating they where given.
On a possitive note staff where very friendly and willing to help as much as they could. the location lake garda is stunning and very beauitful we would go back but sadly not the garda hotel it was very basic but not 4 star.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 wonderful days. riva del gardais lovely resort and this hotel asplendid base to enjoy it from.
the rooms a little dated but clean and comfortable, serviced by a excellent maid . the reception staff are very helpful, dining is a pleasure ,food is well prepared and plentyful, served by friendly staff. all in all a very well run famliy hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for a week last week. It is a wonderfull hotel, the staff are really friendly and helpful. The food was really good, very well prepared and very tasty. This hotel differs from all the others I have stayed in for the following reasons; Free safe deposit key, free delicious and comprehensive lunch, free afternoon teas and cakes, free pool towels, free bike hire, breakfast laid on when we departed in the early hours, staff who took pride in their jobs... It is the attention to detail ranging from the food to the helpfull staff which made our stay in this hotel so wonderful. I would say the bathrooms were on the small side, and they dont have baths. We will definatly go back.
