Hotel Biacaneve is located just below the main square. It was a traditional style hotel with approx 15 rooms, separate dining room and combined long / bar. Being in the lower part of all be a small town did mean that it was a 10 minute uphill walk in the morning to the Clotes Lift but being a snowboarder this was no real issue. The morning walk warmed up the body and particularly the leg muscles ready for the day. For the less mobile skiers the ski bus stop was just a short clump clump away. The Hotel Biancaneve staff were personable, engaging and genuinly interested in making your stay as good as possible. The bedrooms were very well maintained and public areas always clean and tidy. We had a twin bedroom on the first floor (room 8) which was adequate, but smaller than I have had in similar style and size hotels in Austria and France. Emilia ensured that the hotel was run efficiently yet flexibly with a smile and often a humorous comment or two. In response she rightly expected their guests to be courteous to others and especially to be quiet when coming back late.
The hotel appeared to have a mix of clientele with only some coming through the Thompson tour operator. Sauze’s old town and various bars were all just a short walk away and of course it was always downhill on the way home ! Overall a very good traditional style hotel well run by excellent staff offering good value. I chose this hotel as I wanted a well run place, a little away from the main hub and not too far from the lift. The Hotel met all of my expectations and would have not hesitation in recommending it.
