My husband, son (nearly 13) and I stayed at the Piccolo Mondo Hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of April. We were very warmly welcomed and had a lovely suite at the back of the hotel overlooking the pool with large corner balconies. Great to have the extra space with a teenager and the lounge area he slept in had a wide sofa bed and a door to our room which helped with privacy (needed with a young teenager in tow!). Also the suite came with robes, slippers, snacks, free minibar and use of a scooter (alhough we had a car so not necessary for us to use). Hotel bicycles are always avaiable too. The staff were really helpful, always anticipating our needs (we asked about a couple of things and were given leaflets in English, suggestions of please to visit, a translation of the beauty treatments etc etc). The wellness centre was lovely with indoor pool, steam, sauna and special 'showers'. We all had a massage each and this was of good quality. Breakfast was plentiful with wide choice of food - they will make anything you ask for too (scambled eggs was a real winner, son said best he'd ever tasted! Mmmm, not mine then!). We only 'ate in' one night but it was delicious, real italian cuisine and a 'proper' restaurant (having said that kids of all ages were very welcome I noticed, so don't worry, not too formal). My husband left some clothes in the hotel (!!) and I have emailed them, got an immediate response and they are in the post back to us in the UK - that's service! The location of the hotel is not on the lake but it was only a short amble across the road, however we had a lovely view of the mountains and we were staying at a 'lake view' hotel at Desenzano later in the week anyway. We visited the fanatstic waterfall near Torbole (must do) and also travelled round the north west side down to Limone for lunch one day (tunnels along the way and beautiful scenery). Also it is easy access to Rovereto from Torbole - a nice inland town with a shopping centre on the way in and an amazing museum MART - stunning shape (when we were there it was a car exhibition but this changes regularly). The theme park Gardaland was an easy drive to get to on the SE corner of the Lake with stunning views all the way. Not quite Disney but some good thrill rides and area for younger kids too. I noticed a comment on the 'noisiness' of the hotel from a previous reviewer but we found it really quiet (we were slightly out of season but there were other guests staying too). All in all a great Hotel and will definitely recommend Piccolo Mondo
