I travelled to Puglia in September 2006 as the 2nd part of a 2 centre holiday, organised by Page & Moy. We arrived for a snack lunch which was seriously pricey! A small filled roll was 6 euros and a small bottled beer and a G&T came to 10 euros.
The rooms are a fair size and all have balconies with views over the surrounding hills and olive groves. Bathrobes are provided (probably for getting to the Health and Wellness centre in the hotel) and there is a small safe and a Sky TV system. The towels are changed daily and so are the beds. There is a small and very expensive mini-bar in each room.
The reception staff speak good English and the administration overall was efficient. The hotel is very quiet and remote and if you do not have your own transport or use the hotel minibus service you are pretty well stuck. Vieste is the nearest town and is worth one visit and in the Summer the hotel bus service also goes to their own private beach with umbrellas and sun loungers provided for 7 euros a day, per person, which included the bus trip. The only other way you will get about is by being on a package with organised excursions.
One group staying in the hotel had been in 2005, with P&M, and had organised their own flights, car hire and booked direct with the hotel and were pleased with the package they had negotiated.
One's evening meal is chosen at breakfast time from a menu of 4 starters and 4 mains. The food was good, portions on the small size and sometimes served not very hot.
The boat excursion along the coast is well worth going on and if you are fit enough there are walks in the local National Park/Wood and the hotel has mountain bikes for hire. The boat trip included a beach BBQ with bruschettas, fresh fish, sausages and melon with water and wine provided and a glass of Limoncello liqueur during the trip back to port. If the sea is calm and the sun not too hot this is a really good day out. Note that the boat is open and one could get well sunburned in the height of summer
The hotel has indoor and outdoor pools and one could have a very relaxing holiday reading books and/or having the beauty treatments in the Health Centre. I enjoyed my stay but would probably not return to the area again - no reflection on the hotel!
