Our week's stay at the Oliveto was disappointing. We travelled with Thomsons. The rooms were small, the swimming pool so very cold, breakfasts rather limited, the evening meals were inadequate and very boring, and no room in the reception area to sit for a drink. Certainly not a 4T hotel by past experiences.

My husband and I loved this hotel as soon as we walked in. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is very clean. Had a balcony that overlooked the lake and the Swiss Alps. The staff is super friendly and very helpful with requests.
Breakfast was great. Had selection of cereal, breads, fruit, yogurt, pastries, sandwich meat and cheese.
It is about a 15 minute walk to town and the ferry, but the sidewalk runs along the Lake. Felt very safe walking in the early morning and late at night.
We would stay again in a heartbeat.

bit businessy...overall not bad but not a fabulous/would recommend at a drop of a hat type 4****
pros - clean and furniture modern, nice bathroom, great parking.
cons - no windows, patio doors lead on communal space and need to have shutter down otherwise hot but then in darkness, no bath, breakfast - nil eggs/bacon or hot food, very continental but good choice, 15mins to city centre walk.

The grand entrance lobby felt like stepping back in time, speak in hushed tones please: so did the rest of the hotel which could really do with a make over as the 1970's look was fading a bit. However I can cope with the 1970's service that was also provided: personal service and nothing was too difficult. Things to watch out for were the limited mealtimes in the restaurant and the corridor lights: where one stepped out of the lift into the darkness to grope for the switch to turn the things on. We do have sensors these days, chaps.
