My hubby & I stayed @ Francesco's 9/19-23. It was way better than any of these reviews could describe. We got a 3 bed room with a huge balcony & view of the sea/port for 30 euro a night. The room was clean & quiet.
We met some of the nicest, coolest travelers, & had a great time. The days go like this, wake up @ 12, eat breakfast, go to the beach at 13, dinner @ 20, go the hotel bar @ 21:30 for the welcome shot, 0000 go to the Blue Note, then out til 4+ going crazy!
Francesco & Maria are great & they really take care of their guests. They go over & beyond what you would expect. I would recomend this place to anyone who is looking for tons of fun!

I have never written a review for tripadvisor before but having stayed in Francescos I felt I had to. 6 of of us stayed at Francesco in 2 rooms. The staff (mostly austrailian) were so helpful and nice. They picked us up from the ferry and dropped us back aswell. I think we were expecting the usual run of mill dingy hostel but couldnt believe it when we arrived.
All rooms were large, modern and very clean - with full aircon which was a big bonus. Our sheets and towels were changed everyday which you dont usually get in a hostel so we were pleasantly suprised!every night we would head down to the terrace bar and have a good few drinks, meet loadsa people and generally have a good time. Francesco, who also owns the nearby club called Blue Note would then shepard the entire hostel off to his nightclub.
It was brilliant. Ios is not the usual tacky resort that you would get in southern Spain or the Canaries, its amazing - if you go to Ios, take a trip to Santorini. the views were gorgeous. Best holiday i ever had!

There's nowhere - NOWHERE - like Francesco's. First of all, Ios is a unique island. But Francesco's is a unique experience on Ios. The atmosphere is second to none. From the minute you get met at the ferry by the van, to the welcome drinks at the bar, to the free entry to the Blue Note, your time there will be unforgettable.

The terrace bar is the best part of the hostel. (Hostel? It really deserves to be called a hotel, with airy rooms, provided amenities, and a friendly atmosphere. But anyway...) The bar is where you can sit and get a view of the island and water, meet fellow travellers, and just soak up the atmosphere. At night, it turns into the start of the party, and then everyone moves into town.

I can't recommend Francesco's highly enough. DO stay there!

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. Ios is the best place on earth, I have never had so much fun, met so many nice people and stayed in such a clean, gorgeous and CHEAP hostel. Everyone MUST stay here!
