Having read reviews here on tripadvisor.co.uk I was nervous about staying in a hotel that wasn't 5 star but it was Brive. Like most of the reviews say the service is excellent and the staff are friendly and were happy to talk in English to me (can be hard to find that in France). The hotel is clean, well situated and average. Don't get too excited about the all you can eat buffet breakfast. The bed was just not good enough quality to get a good nights sleep, also rooms that face the main road are subject to loud noise from the traffic. The view from my room was 2 lanes of road and then some great scenery.
If you are used to this level/standard of hotel then I think you'll be happy and as ever good staff make all the difference. Free wifi too!
