Just had one night here, during a combination trip of anniversary and stocking up with wine for Christmas. We keep telling ourselves about the money saved buying wine in France, but the total cost of the trip seems to increase every time we go! Maybe it should be just a day trip or an Ibis next time, but that would mean missing out on a place like this.
We had tried to stay here a few times before, but it had always been booked. This time we managed to get the last available room, which we had been told was small, but very pretty! It wasn't massive, but a reasonable size, certainly better than some other chateaux we have stayed at. It was well kitted out with interesting bits and pieces, ranging from a CD player to a jigsaw.
Dinner was excellent; we kept to the 3 course, but I would like to try the 7 course gourmet dinner one night. The meal was a really interesting range of flavours, well presented, great service, one of the best we've had lately. It wasn't cheap, but certainly represented good value. Breakfast likewise was good.
Someone else has commented on the professionalism and lack of pretentiousness of the staff - it really is a very welcoming and comfortable place to stay.
Only slight downside is the parking - either on the street, or 10 euros a night secure parking.
A great place to stay.
