I stayed here a while back and returned in June 2012. This is a fairly basic but clean and comfortable hotel. I stayed in Room 4 for 65 euros. This room has a window that looks out onto the street below. One floor higher and there's a possibility of a sea view but costs more.
However this cheaper option has one big plus (for me anyhow). It is located right over where the hotel's wireless router sits on the floor below, this means that you can have internet access in your room (normally you'd have to sit in the breakfast area) where wi-fi is free but obviously much more convenient in your room! Wi-fi quality is not too shabby either. I was able to FaceTime with a good connection via my late 2011 Macbook Air with someone in Sweden. I think the hotel were surprised when I told them the wi-fi worked in my room - I was even able to take the laptop and give the other party a peek of the view from outside my window and it still hung onto the signal, an unexpectedly cool result.
Other plus points are a nice clean shower and toilet, albeit compact and bijou as an estate agent would say - it is pretty small but perfectly adequate.
There's no air-conditioning but you can open the window - think of the environment guys! There's also a desk - big enough for laptop and two power sockets for all that stuff you need to charge on your holidays :-)
The other reasons for staying here remain the same as last time - it is still one of the best value hotel in Cassis, if not the best. It is clean, the family who run it are lovely people and the food is, in my opinion (and I visit Cassis three times a year) some of the very best on offer in terms of quality and notwithstanding price; which is very reasonable indeed.
Finally, if you are travelling by car, it is one of the easiest hotels to drop your bags off to - i.e. you can park the car very near it, just a few yards in fact, before parking your car in the the Town's Viguerie Car Park - 5 minutes walk away. As soon as you get your ticket - go to the car park desk and ask for a forfait touristique. This means you can come and go using the same ticket and it is cheaper, I paid 25 euros for three days parking.
