First went with ‘reach4thealps’ two years ago and I was not disappointed for our return visit to Chalet Alouette in Les Gets over Christmas. Sometimes a risk returning somewhere and being the first guest of the season but not in this case, the staff were well trained and briefed to our requirements, 4 adults and 5 young adults between 15 and 22 years. Accommodation was excellent and maintained to a high standard by our chalet host Monique, who was also our Chef for the week, providing fresh well cooked meals to a high standard. Christine also deserves a mention who assisted with airport transfers, drop-offs around the resort and other chores which contributed to a well run organisation. Hot tub and sauna at the end of the day very welcome and a convenient ski hire shop next door with an equally accommodating owner, who didn’t even wince when my buckled pole was exchanged on day 3 for a new set. A family run business by Marcus and Gina who deserve to take full credit for its success, the frequent contact prior to departure and the open door policy of ‘ask anything anytime’ was much appreciated. I returned with a very uncomfortable knee joint but well worth it, skiing suitable for all grades, town in easy walking distance, excellent local free transport should you need it and a great tourist information office.
