I stayed at the Hotel am Duesseldorfer Platz for 5 nights in Novhttp://cdn.tripadvisor.com/img2/sprites/ratings-v3.pngember 2010. The lady at the check-in desk was very friendly and helpful. My room was pretty big, equipped with a very comfortable double bed, a large desk to work and a flat screen TV. The bathroom was well sized, well equipped, but not as clean as you would expect. A Wireless internet connection was available for free, although the registration process was rather complicated. My room was heading a garden, it therefore was really calm and I slept very well.
The breakfast was typical German, it offered everything you would need, but nothing really special. The breakfast room was downstairs, so there wasn’t any natural light getting in.
The hotel is situated in a one-way street in the middle of the city centre. The highway is accessible within 5-10 minutes by car and the Duesseldorf airport is just minutes away. A drive to Duesseldorf just takes you 20 minutes, you would pay around 25-30 € to get there by taxi.
One night I forgot my hotel key in the car, which I left in the city. I called the hotel and although the reception is closed at around 8 PM, the phone is transferred to the private house of the owner. She was not amused when I told her the story, which is understandable at 1 AM; nonetheless, she brought the key to the hotel so that I could access my room.
Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel and can recommend it to everybody.
