We have stayed here before so booked again. The hotel is quite easy to find if you travel slowly down the road. You get what you pay for. A budget hotel, we have stayed in so many Formule1 hotels and they do vary. Free wifi but I think it's about time they got some air con as the rooms are so hot! The showers weren't as good at this one either. They self clean and these weren't doing that properly. Toilets were fine. The breakfast buffet was better than the Chartres one we stayed in on the way down South. Better choice, Croissants and my Sons cereal he likes at this one. The Male Receptionist on the morning shift was really lovely. Very chatty and helpful. You get what you pay for a night for 3 people and a good breakfast for about 40 euros in high season is good. We use them as a quick stopover, heads down and off hotel. Too hot but that's all.

We stayed here on a run down to La Palmyre a couple of weeks ago. Booked online in advance and the five of us stayed for less than £40. Found it okay with the satnav reference provided on the HotelF1 website. Rooms are standard F1 stuff and were modern and clean. Couldn't fault the value. Sorrounding area has two or three restaurants but a little pricey for a family of five.

We tried to book here on return as it's a good convenient stop over but couldn't book online, so stayed at hotelF1 Rouen Louviers Le Vauvreuil instead. It's around 30km further to the journey and same sort of set up as it's an F1, but we found it more convenient for restaurants and the autoroute.

Quick tip - if filling up the car, don't use the garage across the road (as we did) as they've wised up to the number of holidaymakers passing through (there are other budget hotels there too) so head south towards the autoroute and there's another garage we passed with cheaper fuel.

Room tip: Try and stay away from ground floor. You'll need your window open as it gets warm.

HotelF1 is a great concept, but the price is just too high to be considered budget.

I arrived around 10pm after driving around the city looking for the location (never would have found if not for sat-nav). The front car park gate was closed at this hour. The pedestrian gate was also locked, so I had to ring the front desk. Thankfully, someone was there. The staff member's poor English made this frustrating situation even more difficult because I couldn't figure out how to get my car in the gate.

The hotel is very basic, but they've spent too much money on things like the TV rather than on toilet seats in the shared bathroom cubicles. It's unclear whether there were actual toilet seats to be lifted and so people just pee on them.

The bed was okay, but the room was very warm (top floor) on a very warm day.

One of the towels they provided was very dirty. The two power points in the room were inconveniently placed so that my phone charger did not fit.I will say that the wifi was very good and redeemed the stay.

Breakfast was good, but for 4 euros, I think I would have been better buying something at the shops the night before.

I would not stay here again due to the hassle and lack of value. It really would be worth it to me to pay another 10-20 Euro for another hotel.

Room tip: Not the ground floor because you might need to open the window for ventilation.

We followed the address info given on the F1 website. 2 separate addresses - both wrong! Spent a lot of time therefore driving about getting nowhere. However, once you find it this is a standard F1 hotel. Rooms have been renovated, they are clean and comfy. The shared facilities could do with a bit of TLC but were clean if tired. As always, if you want a neat, clean overnight pitstop whilst travelling up or down France then this is fine. If satnav directs you to Avenue des Canadians it may take you to the older residential part of the road - you need to find the modern trade park end!

You're heading south for France/Spain and it's heading towards 8:00pm. All you want is a bed and somewhere to eat and then an early start the next day. So you pay 32 euros and get a decent room - good cheap cafe across the road and problem solved. But you don't get your own toilet /shower and that means sharing and in September that means sharing with "the workers" who are not your nice middle-class type who wipe up the mess around the toilet.

But it's cheap, bed is clean/comfortable and (having remembered to go to the toilet in shoes) you're ready for the off. Service is grim and anyone who buys a breakfast in a Formule/Travel lodge place is asking for trouble anyway. Use again? Probably not with my wife - but on my own or with other men - a definite yes.
