After spending an age trying to find a suitable place to spend New Years' Eve 2007 with a few close friends (ten of us), Clifton House was recommended. We were not disappointed. From the initial phone call to our parting goodbyes, we could not have wished for our hosts to have been anymore accommodating. There was a superb balance between excellent service whilst not being intrusive and the entire ambience was only enhanced with the fantastic eye for detail and bedroom decor. We had the run of the sumptuous Drawing Room with open log fire, Dining Room where we were waited on 'hand and foot' and the five beautifully appointed bedrooms. The menu we devised for our New Years' Eve meal was expertly prepared and served by our hosts, who again were only too willing to help and advise. Breakfast was superb and most welcomed (at a time to suit us), and soaked up the drop too much Champagne from the night before! This really was a delightful experience and we cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. We will be visiting again.

We have just returned from four nights at Clifton House.It is a former coaching house with lots of genuine period features including lovely wooden floors.The four poster bed we had was the most comfortable i have ever slept in with quality bed linen and pillows.We had a seperate private bathroom which was a good size ,again with good quality towels and toiletries.The breakfast was always served with a smile by Jan and included all anyone would wish for.Clifton House is situated on the top of a hill looking down on Bradford on Avon.Its only a ten minute amble down to town with maybe a fifteen minute walk back up.The Castle Inn is very close and should be considered as a temporary local with good local beers and extensive food menu.Bradford is a lovely town to explore and a great base for travel further afield.

We were warmly welcomed to this beautifull house. The room contained a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. Perfect for a romantic weekend away. You could not fault the attention to detail. Breakfast was also delicious!

Clifton House was a lovely place to stay during our three day trip to Bath. The rooms are very clean & comfortable and are decorated elegantly with a classic style- not overly fussy like some B&B's. The bed was fantastic, our ensuite bath was very spacious, and little touches like in-room tea, coffee, cookies, bottled water, and lovely bathroom toiletries gave it a special touch. Jan and John were wonderful hosts and are terrific cooks! They provided great information about the area. The location was also a great choice. Bradford-on-Avon is a charming little town in and of itself and is conveniently located just a few quick train stops outside of Bath. It was nice to enjoy Bath during the day and retreat to our inn to relax and enjoy dinner at some of the delicious local restaurants in Bradford. We can't wait to return and we will certainly be back to Clifton House!
