Absolutely beautiful hotel & grounds. Our spacious room had a view of the falls; the room & bathroom was luxurious. Deep tub. Extremely comfortable beds with fluffy pillows; spacious closets, plasma tv, elegant & tasteful decor. Immaculate & bright. Staff was friendly & accommodating Grounds were great for walking & views, including a woodlands walk. Flowers & plants & waterview just stunning outside. Casual dinner was a bit on the slow side & overpriced ($70 + tax for 1 adult & 1 child), but breakfast really made up for it. Breakfast was scrumptious in every way....located in spectacularly sunny room overlooking the falls, with peaceful background music; selection was amazing; service was excellent & food--breads, french toast, fruits were delicious. Pool was sparkling clean & well-designed....has waterfall in it to soothe your back & a nice deep hot jacuzzi nearby, steam room & pool-side chaises to watch the birds at the feeder outside. Pool attendant was so friendly...she asked us where we were headed to next, so I pulled out our map & she ended up giving us great travel tips. Loved this place! Great for kids or for a romantic get-away.

Really looking forward to this stay, and we were not disapointed. We were accompanied to our room - though carrying our own baggage, which was fine - and while the couple checking in ahead of us were upgraded, our room was large and had a great view of the waterfall. We asked for a dinner reservation at Oscars Bistro on site, however this is apparently shut down at present, so we booked the casual dining option in the lounge bar. Luckily for us this was overbooked so we were "bumped up" to the main formal restuarant while still choosing from the casual menu. The food was absolutely gorgeous, though the service was a little ...random - white wine is taken away to chill and not necessarily topped up when your glass is running low. Still , the Lamb was perfect and the pianist managed to sneak in a Nirvana cover into his mellow set !!!
Breakfast consisted of a massive buffet plus hot breakfast to order - all excellent quality. Grounds and garden walks are great for fresh air afterwards so bring a change of shoes.
It is worth heading into Kenmare for a night - big choice of restuarants (Mulcahys for us) and a few old style bars too. Taxi's are steep at €7 each way.
Leisure centre is small but clean and the little pool is spotless and warm.
We came away longing to stay longer and we will be back.

My auntie took myself & my Mam to this hotel for a treat one weekend in July. The hotel is set on lovely grounds, about 30mins drive from Killarney. If you are looking for peace & quite, this hotel is perfect. The staff were very friendly. Our room was huge & overlooked the waterfall, which was really nice. There are no tea & coffee making facilities in the room or mini bar. The bathroom was also really big. The hairdryer in our bathroom was broken, it was taped up with masking tape & we reported it & we were told there was a spare hairdryer in one of the drawers. When a member of staff brought our bags to our room we did ask for a bucket of ice & 3 glasses as we had a bottle of champagne with us, after about a half hour there was no sign of this & a lady knocked on our room to ask was everything & could she do anything for us, we told her that we had asked for the buiket of ice & she told me that I would have to ring the bar, as this was not her area!!! Anyway, we just ready & headed into the town of Kenmare. Its a great spot, very lively. We had breakfast the next morning which was very nice. We were booked into the Spa at different times. We were very disappointed with this, I was getting a manicure & my Mam was getting a Pedicure & we were both in the same room, they didnt know that we were together, they tell you to come to the spa a few min's before hand to relax, but we were left sitting at the chairs at the desk, which wasnt very relaxing.
The changing room for the swimming pool was tiny, the bathroom in our room was bigger, it was a major let down. No lockers or even baskets for you to put your belongings in. The pool is also small, you wouldnt be going down for a good swim, we just had a paddle, the jacuzzi was out of order. I'd say we spent about 30mins in the leisure centre, that was with getting undressed & dressed again. Our meal in the restaurant that night was really nice, but the waiter reminded us that it was his birthday, we kinda thought he was dropping a hint so that we would give him a tip, but we didnt leave a tip, in fact I think my aunt said there was a service charge on the bill.
On checking out my aunt checked her bill & discovered that she was charged for drinks that we didnt have on the Friday when we arrived, there was an orange juice & pints of Guinness on it, we actually paid cash for our drinks on the Friday, lucky we kept the receipts.

I brought my partner here for weekend break and was not disappointed. The hotel itself is very nice and the food was perfect. I found the room we stayed in could have done with a little modernization but that is only if I want to be picky. Great walks to be had in the woods next to the hotel, unfortunately our main aim was to go horse ridding and they had neglected to mention until we arrived that this service had been temporarily suspended. Location was a bit distant from the town if you are planning on going out but we stayed at the hotel.
I would definitely go back, little gem.

We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful relaxing time. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable with all amenities. There wasn't any teamaking facilities in the room but as it said in the room guide just ring room service and it was instantly supplied and topped up throughout our stay. We ate in both restaurants and the food was fantastic - a top quality chef. We would in particular like to thank the Sommelier who helped us choose some fantastic wines from their amazing selection. On our last day we decided to have a day in after we had been travelling around so much. We wandered around their beautiful estate then stopped at the falls view terrace outside the bar for coffee. As soon as we sat down a member of staff was instantly there taking our order. We then read the papers in the comfortable library. The staff occasionly checked on us to see if we wanted anything. In the afternoon we relaxed in the pool and in the evening we had a delightful dinner. What a day - we felt like the Lord and Lady of the manor. We will certainly be back.
