I have stayed in this hotel many times through my job. I would've always reccommended this hotel in the past to family and friends. My husband and I decided to have a few days away before the arrival of our first baby. It was my husbands first trip to the Lansdowne.
We stayed for 3 nights My husbands first impression of our room was "the room is very small" but I said, "we've a fine big bathroom and a window". (Outside the window was a fan which operates between 7am and 11pm daily)
Outside our door is a door into a hallway of rooms but honest to God it never banged closed as much as it did the past 3 nights. Its the type of door that has a soft close gadget which needs to be adjusted to prevent banging shut.
To add to my woes, we seemed to stay the 3 nights they had the rowdy guests staying. Loud, late and full of lager. They all sat in the lobby until 2.15am.
I ended up with 3 very restless nights instead of relaxation. I actually almost booked out of the hotel on Day 2 but my husband said "we're still having a lovely break away despite the hotel"
Now we did eat in the bar on our first night, and the 2 girls working there were welcoming and very efficient.
Our 3 breakfast mornings, lets just say on a scale of 1 to 3, Day 3 was the best. In the past, my favourite breakfast in hotels I passed through in my job used to be the Lansdowne now its a "thrown together affair."
On paying our bill, we did comment on noise levels etc to the receptionist but what good is it!!
Never will I darken the door of this establishment again, I will only ever say STAY ELSEWHERE!!
