Our three days, two nights in Dingle were the highlight of our trip. Hazelbrook farm was exactly the sort of retreat we were looking for. We didn't have a car but didn't find the walk from Dingle to the B&B to be unreasonable. In fact, the countryside, the sheep and the quaint buildings made the 15 minute walk to and from town worth it and helped us feel more in touch with this beautiful country we were visiting.
The owners were very friendly and willing to chat when we asked questions about their farm. The breakfast choices vere quite good and satisfying. The wood throughout the B&B made for a welcoming and homey atmosphere. My only suggestion is to request a room on the upper floor.
My adult sister had to leave a day earlier than the rest of us so we asked the Visitor Centre to call a cab to take her to Hazelbrook (from Dingle) to pick up her things before coming back to town to catch the bus. All the cab happened to be out of town. Before we could panic, the Staff member told us she would just call Pat, the owner, to see if she was coming into town. Pat wasn't but she made a special trip in to pick up my sister and then returned to see her off at the bus. The kindness really showed what kind of people our hosts are.
The views out the window truly made the stay magical. Watching the farm sheep grazing right outside and seeing the dog do his farm work herding them made us feel like we had really travelled to another land.
The next time my family goes to Ireland, we will definitely be spending a week at Dingle at Hazelbrook farm. I can't wait to go back and I highly recommend it!
