We stayed in this hotel recently & left a day early it was so bad. The food was really bad in the bar and the reception smelled of the toilets which are right next to the rception desk & have the doors opened permanently ! The waitress we had serving dinner was the most unfriendly helpful person we have ever met. She didn't even offer us tea/coffee or dessert after our dinner (which we had decided we were no way having anyway) but still she could have asked. There were televisions on everywhere & all the guests seem to do was sit & watch tv in the receptpion area /bar etc. It was truly awful place & we couldn't wait to get out of there. We stayed only one night. Never again, take my advise don't waste your money please.

Every year we take a few days holiday in Dingle Co. Kerry. We decided to stay in the Smerwick hotel. It was our second visit. First of all the rooms are very spacious, brightly decorated and very clean. Secondly the views from the hotel are second to none, absolutely amazing. This hotel is not your run of the mill plush hotels, it's family run with friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere and is ideally located on Slea Head Drive, a must if you visiting Dingle. Finally on this visit my boyfriend proposed to me. So I guess that does make for a wonderful trip.

Friendly Staff with a visit from the Easter Bunny especially for the kids, spacoius rooms and absoutely delicious food, a week end to remember

When we arrived we sat outside on the benches chatting. We weren't long outside there when the manager came out and sat in his car, with the window open right next to the benches. He stayed there until we went inside. We came back later on in the evening and sat out again for about an hour. As soon as we sat down he came out again and didn't go back in until we had all gone in. A bit of sublety wouldn't have gone astray!!

We were told there was a residents bar. However, when we returned from the night out we were told that it wasn't open.

The food in the restaurant was only very fair. I had plaice stuffed with prawns. The plaice was too dry and the prawns were very small and hard.

Between the starter and main course some of us went for a cigarette outside. The manager came out giving out to us because he didn't know where he was to put the plates for the main courses. Now there was 15 of us there at the table and only 4 of us outside so the rest of our crowd could have told him where to put the plates.
