We have had two visits to Mount Falcon in October, once with my wife to stay in the Castle for two nights and a second visit for 4 days to stay in one the the self catering houses within the grounds when we also brought our three children.

Each visit has been amazing with excellent and helpful staff and the prices are very reasonable e.g. a pint of Guinness costs €3.80 in the bar! The owners have done a stunning job restoring the Castle to its former glory retaining many of the original features and furniture from the past.

The food is tremendous and great value again, plus the grounds are beautiful with many mature trees and walks. Our children also loved it particularly the Pool.

We will come back many times over the years both with and without the children!

Mount Falcon opened in July 2006. We are locals but as we had a free night after our wedding before heading off on honeymoon we booked in to Mount Falcon. It really is an amazing hotel and is definitely in the top three in Mayo with Knockranny and Ashfor castle.

The old original part of the house incorporates the reception area, restaurant and bar. as well as the six suites. The function room abd the rest of the rooms are in the new extension to the North which has been designed to preserve te look of the original house.

The bar is lovely and has a bay window looking out onto the gardens. The library area is lovely, quiet and relaxing. The restaurant is lovely and makes you feel like you're in an old medieval castle. You'll be surprised at how many of the beautiful old fixtures have been preserved. The food is outstanding. Make sure you take a walk around the extensive manicured gardens and woodlands.

The poo lis pretty standard but is mostly glass walled with views of the woods. The spa hadn't opened when we stayed there.

The rooms are beautiful with a huge bathroom. And wait until you try the Foxford bathrobe and towels. I was never as tempted to steal something in my whole life but they are available down the road in Foxford woolen mills. A fantastic hotel and can't wait to stay again.

Stayed for a wedding in Ballina from 9th to 10th of September 2006.

Hotel has been recently renovated and no expense has been spared by the owners.

The rooms are spacious and welll laid out. The Bathrooms are also spacious and spotless.

There is a Swimmingpool and Sauna/Steam-room. These are excellent.

Breakfast is included and is very tasty. The staff are just excellent too. Good staff are worth an extra star for any hotel and the staff were all very friendly and polite.

This is a great hotel with plenty of money invested in it. Definitely well worth a visit!!!

Our party had 12 in and ages ranged from 6 to 78. Everyone loved it. We stayed in the hotel for a Wedding reception plus two other nights. What a wonderful place and set in wonderful grounds. Everything was perfect. The rooms were huge, really comfortable and grandly furnished and decorated. The food was excellent. All staff were really helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. We all felt that we had been truly looked after and spoilt. The men did some salmon fishing and actually caught a couple. We also used the swimming pool, jaccuzi etc which we had to ourselves. As we moved on to tour some more of the beautiful countryside the manager recommended places to see and what to avoid. This really made our holiday. I would like to thank everyone there. It was great. Just need to start saving to go again.
