Well, the town's small and we should have found this easily but we didn't. The room was tiny, over-filled with furniture but with a stunning resort-style bathroom. If you have any flexibility problems, like a bad hip, knee or back, you won't be able to get into the tub/shower, as it's really high to swing your leg over. The view out the back window was into rather grungy surroundings. There's an attached restaurant serves the included breakfast--well, be assertive about what you want. The surly Eastern European servers weren't about to go to any trouble. I just wanted coffee and scones--which they claimed weren't available but when we were leaving, we saw a basket with at least three dozen there. The desk staff was helpful in getting us directed out of town. The website made this hotel seem more elegant than it was--I felt mislead.
Everything in town is easy walking distance--the "gourmet" reputation of the town in somewhat overblown, though.

“Fantastic hotel with a buzz”

We had travelled around Ireland and can honestly say this was our favourite hotel. It is set in the heart of Kinsale and is a real meeting place for locals as well as visitors to the town, this give the hotel a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are very professional, helpful and can't do enough for you. Food is good, we had planned to try a few of the restuaratns around the town but enjoyed the food so much we ate in the restaurant two nights out of the three we stayed there. We stayed in one of the superior rooms which was good - what you would expect. Overall a fabulous little hotel. Wish we could find more of them like this.

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Haven hotel last week for two nights. We booked a superior room and it was well worth it we were in room 15 and it was very nice and decorated very nicely. We had dinner in the hotel on one of the night and it was very good. The hotel in my opinion could not put a foot wrong it is not somewhere i would recommend for those who like the big style of an international chain but as a boutique hotel it is perfect, the staff are excellent and friendly and the athmosphere in the hotel is very relaxed and comfortable. The hotel is perfectly located to just abandon your car and wonder around the beautiful town. outside the hotel is pay parking 70cent per hour but there is free parking in various locations not far form the hotel. Brekfast was lovely and pleanty of choice from fish, pancakes, cold meat and cheese and full irish. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will be back.

“Stay away from room 9!!!!”

Blue Haven Hotel

Stayed in the Blue Haven for 1 night. Had booked two rooms....a superior double and one single.
Superior room was good.... as one would expect for the price, however the single room left a lot to be desired. It was a long corridor type room, very dark and stiflingly hot with NO air conditioning. My friend complained about heat but was told there was nothing could be done. Even if she opened the window it led directly on to a flat roof.... not the nicest of views and certainly not reassuring for a single female. When I complained, the management said they were aware of problem with room 9 but nothing could be done. Surely one should be warned before being assigned this room. It was not discounted and also we were not looking for cheap accomodation. Overall the hotel was okay, good location etc but make sure you ask what number room you are assigned if booking a single room!!

Nice boutique hotel in Kinsale. Respectable rooms and bathroom. Breakfast is included with your stay. Wireless internet service is a plus. First floor is made up of several nice restaurants and bars. A good place to stay if you don't mind splurging a little.
