We couldn't believe our good fortune when we drove up to The Glen Country House. We had been unable to find accommodations in Kinsale and had discovered The Glen quite by accident when looking for alternate places to stay. We were delighted beyond our wildest dreams when we saw what a beautiful property we had selected so accidentally. The view from our room looked across a pasture with horses, cows, and two wonderful English Springer Spaniels to the estuary that runs out to the North Atlantic. Guy and Diana Scott are delightful hosts, and Diana prepares a breakfast second to none. Our bed was the most comfortable of all our accommodations throughout Ireland. Guy told me when they decided to venture into the B&B business, they understood that the two things they needed to get right were the bed and the breakfast ... and boy, did they ever!! Be sure and have dinner at the Pink Elephant nearby. The food was great and the staff was tremendously entertaining! As much as we enjoyed visiting and shopping in Kinsale, the best part of that stop was our stay at The Glen Country House.

The Glen Country House is a beautiful place to stay and is owned and managed by Mrs. and Mr. Scott. The Glen Country House is located in Ireland with a gorgeous view of Courtmacsherry bay.
The rooms are like pictures from a fairytale. The beds are so comftorble it feels like you are sleeping on a cloud. They have a feather comfreters and pillows and while you are relaxing in bed you can watch the flat screen T.V. I also loved the way they assorted the all the furniture and accessories. It was so luxurious!
My family and I absolutely loved the cows and horses! When we arrived at the farm/country house we were pleasantly greeted by cows, horses, 2 dogs, and Mrs. and Mr. Scott. I felt so welcome.
Mrs. Scott is a fantastic cook! She made us hot scones and tea. In the morning a warm delicious breakfast was waiting for us downstairs. She had cereal, oatmeal, black and white pudding, and fresh bread. Talk about Irish hospitality! There was practically every kind of Irish food there.
I think everyone should get a chanceto visit The Glen. I would be very surprised if anyone didn't like it. I really enjoyed myself!

The Glen is a beautiful country house owned and operated by Guy and Diana Scott who are the tenth generation to live on the picturesque and expansive property. The house was built in 1860 and is located within a 20 minute drive from Kinsale and the Old Head golf course. We chose to stay here based on their website, location and the fact that it is a real working farm with family accomodations.

Upon arrival at the front gate, we knew we had found a gem. We were warmly welcomed by Guy and Diana to this beautiful home. Diana served scones and hot tea for us as we sat in front of a warm fire and enjoyed the scenery overlooking Courtmacsherry Bay.

The accomodations were superior from the down pillows and comforters to the flat screen TVs. The home was impeccably decorated and recently renovated to a luxurious standard. The Glen wasn't modern by any means but provided every modern convenience with an old world flair.

Our daughters were drawn to the cows and horses on the property and enjoyed the freedom to roam where they pleased. Guy was kind enough to show us around the barn, answer our questions and give us a brief tour of the property.

Our stay at The Glen was a highlight of our wonderful vacation and clearly one of the finest bed & breakfast accomodations in Ireland. We will be back!
